Daily Hab-it: Arpon Basu abandons blog to administrate LNH.com

Or so it says on his blog. To be honest, I am a bit sad about it.

Happy however that the NHL is targetting the French demographic. Seems we aren't irrelevant anymore! Huzzah!!!

After that disgraceful Habs-Bruins top 10 that appeared to be made by a 12 year old who had a youtube account... I'm happy somebody who knows the history a bit better is coming on board

I mean really the Price/Thomas fight shouldn't even be top 10.

Hopefully he still finds time to cover the Canadiens in English.

I hope at the very least he continues to comment on twitter. He's easily the most rational and fair Anglo commentator, I rarely disagree with his blog.

Good for him though, I was shocked when I discovered that NHL.com launched a site in Slovakian before French!

He still has his NHL.com blog where he covers the Canadiens, so it's not like he's stopped writing.

I love Arpon Basu, but I thought from reading a couple of his french tweets that he wasn't 100% comfortable.

It's like someone would put Renaud Lavoie in charge of the english side haha

Arpon is a great guy, have had multiple convos with him on Twitter, really classy, and he deserves this promotion, good for him.

And, one day, a Leafs/Canucks Chinese-Canadian computer whiz will administrate the Chinese version of the NHL's website.

Apprehension. It's to be expected. The man is assigned to an administrative post to the NHL.com's smaller and poorer brother. He'll have the pressure to repeat all features showed on the mother website without having much say about what it is, but get the hassle to translate it all.

Good luck! Great opportunity for ya!

Yes but NHL.com always had a french section.
