It has been quite turbulences days for the management for HC Lugano and SCB. What do you think guys about that what happend in Berne resp in Lugano? It has occurded quite heavy reactions, especially in case of Huras.
To me Hurras is a great guy, great coach ... and funny person. Yet this last element may not help him in the present case.
Because the situation wasn't desperate !! far from that. He finished champion and in semi-finals. Nothing to do with Van Boxmer !!
i guess he wasn't particularly beloved. And some Swiss Germans don't deal well with humour in a professional environment.
only because of humour, you may loose credit.
I regret deeply because i am all for Bern and highly like Hurras(among the best foreigners SCB had in the pas 20 years !). And i think that together, they could have made 1 year out of 2 the title.
++
As Per Barry Smith, something must have happened in the locker room. 9-0 + this ... !
Did he have a rebellion, did he loose grip on the players, in comparaison with NA, here players have more power than in NA !!
maybe something went wrong on that side ... !
anyway on this one i am throwing a pure speculation, since i was addressing the Huras issue, i kept writting for the second topic ... agreeing that i know close to nothing in this affair except that HCL has a rather bad track record in the past years and Barry Smith has a decent track record but as assistant coach.
Both came out of nowhere for sure. In the case of Huras, I just can't understand their reason. Marc Lüthi said the team was performing as expected (sure they are not dominant, but Bern should know better than anyone that results early in the season only bring you so far) and that the firing came because of the low quality of play. He has to be kidding, Huras won everywhere he coached, including in Bern, providing good hockey in the process, and style of play didn't seem to matter when they gooned their way to the championship in 2004 anyway. The fact that the decision came as a surprise to Sven Leuenberger suggests there is something we don't know. I know Lüthi is not the most diplmatic guy around but he can't have gone so far without a good reason.
As for Smith, disagreements with the management came to light when he complained about not having a 5th import player two weeks ago, then there was that 9-0 game but once again, there must be something more. Before that game, out of Lugano's 9 losses, 8 where by one goal and one included a late empty netter and a bit more luck could have seen them with 8-10 more points, right with Bern and Zug. Sure, their last run is disappointing, but when you consider the whole season they aren't that far away from where they should be.
It's true that the players have been very inconsistent, and turning around the mess this team was last season takes time and work, but he certainly shares a part of the blame for not being higher in the standing, as some of Lugano's weaknesses (power play, defensive zone coverage...) are the coach's responsability to correct, and he seems stuck in his scoring line-scoring line-checking line-energy line logic that leads to a questionable use of some players (Kamber top 6, Niedermayer and Sannitz, two similar players, on the same line...). Beside, I can't agree with his request for an extra import. It's definitely better to play four or five october games with only three imports than to have to manage five for the whole season (You can see the problems it creates in Zug right now), and the signing he was involved in (Niedermayer) didn't make a lot of sense then, and turned out to be a disappointment.

(in German but with today's technology ... i guess it is easy to have it in any language ... including Mexican Nahuatl)
(Did you knos that, like German, Nahuatl allows for construction of words ...Schifffahrtsgesellschaft des Vierwaldstättersees, the same can be made with Nahuatl, add to this that the maya calendar was the first calendar that was including a year longer than 365 days and shorter than 366 days, which the gregorian calendar only adjusted in modern times with the bisextil solution !! interesting ... instn't it ?? Mesoamerican tribes weren't stupid nor retarded !)
(by the way the worrying thing about this calendar is that it is the one coming to an end on Sunday, December 23, 2012, then will take place the Kaly Yuga !! which is the passage to the new world for the indians ... but after all, they are indians as well so why not melange it ?)
Regarding the results/play from the last two games, i gotta say "thank you Mr. Lüthi, thank you very much". It's gonna be interesting how Nummelin and Huras will get along tough.
totally OT, but isnt that Maya stuff on the same day as the alignment of all planets in the solar system? maybe kaly yuga means "the whole thing starts all over again and we were too lazy to write all this numbers down infinitely"
Interesting, but it's mostly about Leuenberger, there's nothing new about Huras. I still can't understand there reason, but one thing for sure, Lugano are the one laughing right now.

That Nummelin doesn't like Huras story sounds like journalist made up crap. I mean, who coached Nummelin during the best seasons of his career?
I wonder if there is more to the story than appears, because Vicky Mantegazza looks as bad as Marc Lüthi did one and half year ago, and I find it hard to believe that the same coach (and a pretty succesful one) would be a victim of two decisions that look very irrational from the outside in such a short amount of time.
