Besides the obvious Giroux and Timonen, I really really like Wayne Simmonds. Growing up my favorite NHL players were Ron Hextall and Kevin Dineen (the Whaler...by the time he got to Philly injuries and Crohn's disease really killed his offensive game), and Wayne Simmonds reminds me so much of a young Kevin Dineen. I'm not sure the offensive upside is the same (KD has a 45G season on his resume), but the speed, grit, willingness to fight anybody...it's all there.

Now if we could just get Bryz chopping guys and handling the puck like Hexy...

Jagr - can't tell if he would be my first pick if i wasn't czech, but he would be in top3 for sure
Giroux - no comment, he just rocks
Pronger - i never liked him as enemy, now i love him
Bryzgalov - i know he hasn't find himself yet, but im sure he will shine sooner or later, awesome personality

These guys work hard and do the nasty work down low and on the deck..........They are the A-10 thunderbolts [Warthogs] of the Flyers hockey team.

1) Giroux (the fact that he has a physical side to his game, despite being so small, also earns him big points with me)

2) Simmonds

3) Jagr

This isn't such an insult. Perennial 20 goal, 2 way wingers are not a bad thing to have.

For me, It's Kimmo. I love his mix of veteran calm, puck skills and smooth skating.

Then comes Giroux, Jagr, Simmonds. Talbot, Read and Rinaldo too I suppose. I'm not a big fan of the decision to have Rinaldo on the team, but he is clearly and ceaselessly applying himself to the maximum with in his role. That type of attitude makes for great teams, so I can live with him.

All of these guys are try-hards. Effort just really jumps out at you watching the game and these guys give it.

i meant that both versteeg and voracek are promising players that just don't seem to fit in on this team. but you do have a solid point about what they are capable of, on a team where they actually fit in.
