Elbow shot to the head of a player no where near the puck... 2 minutes.
What a ****ing disgrace. When referees make the wrong call they should be fined. And diving should be a 5 minute major, and referees should be fined for not calling it until they start calling it right.
Wolski deserves 20 games for concussing another guys dilibetarely. "Alfredsson skated into him!" My ass. Wolski's elbow had no business being at head height with Alfie. That, and the way he stepped into Alife, should make it obvious to anyone with eyes and the IQ of a houseplant that Wolski was taking a dileberate cheapshot, with no regard nor respect for the health or safety of an opposing player. Again, this is a disgrace.
Shanny needs to get his head out of his ass and drop the hammer on the Rangers, and shelf Wolski until Alfie comes back.
Its one thing to want the game to stay physical, but letting that **** go is pathetic. I hope that the next time the Sens and Rangers play that Wolski's IQ drops 50 points and he drops his gloves with Neil.
I was upset about the non action but after reading and listening to various comments it's finally clear where the real problem lies:
They were discussing this on radio again and it's pretty clear from comments made that Shanahan just does what he is told. They basically said that he was ordered to back off. Since it's pretty clear who pulls the strings it should be obvious that it's Shanahan's boss who makes the final decision on discipline. No one seems to know what is right or wrong anymore and that's classic Bettman modus operandi.
It makes it easier to understand the confusing decisions if when Shanahan speaks you picture a ventriloquist's dummy with a hand up his butt. Look closely and you might see Bettman's lips move when the prop talks.
Hopefully one day Shanahan will fess up and blow the lid off the whole farce before someone else in that office does it for him. Right now he's the patsy for ridicule while Bettman goes unscathed.
Steve Simmons is a greasy little slimball. How does this guy not get his ass beat on a regular basis.
He goes on "That's hockey 2 night" and bashes Brian Murray, saying Murray wouldn't of said anything about the non-suspension on the Wolski hit if it was a third or fourth liner that went down. Since it was Alfredsson, Murray is making a big deal about. It sould be a non-issue.
Then Simmons sits there with this smug grin on his greasy face. Man I wanted to reach through the TV and rip his ears off. TSN is a Joke!!

Good fu...ing post.
fines is the only thing that work on people.
Shanahan, and its derivatives, will from this time on be forever known as an acceptable replacement word for bowel movement in our household.
As in:
"Pull over at the next stop. I got a Shanahan on deck."
"I just dropped a giant Shanny in the crapper."
"The dog left me a massive Shanahan on the carpet."
"I just had the greasiest Shanahan ever. It was a six wiper."

And just who might these people who know that Shanahan was told to back be?
From what I've been reading/watching, it seems like Alfie is going to be gone for at least another week but MacLean didn't look too confident. I'm beginning to think our captain will be out for an extended period of time. Not sure this team can be successful without him in the lineup long term but I am more worried about Alfie's health at this point.

Toronto media is nothing but a bunch of talking heads , they are paid to say exactly what the biggest hockey market in the nhl wants to hear.
The funny thing is that leaf fans take as the truth,we are supposed to be dead last with a 5 year rebuild remember .I listened to a 590 interview with edm,s GM ,they pretty much kept telling him that edm is lucky to be where they are right now ,and that the bottom should fall out soon .
God bless leaf propaganda ,its because of this we get all the laughs
