True, but if that was a concern, I'd think the smart move is to play Konopka and insert Filly next game.

I was actually wondering if there was a bit of a gentleman's agreement between MacLean and Wilson? Rosehill and Orr didn't dress either. It's like they agreed to disarm the nuclear weapons for a game.

Yeah, I had actually wondered the same thing, but figured I was probably wrong, so didn't mention it. Glad to hear someone else say it first.

I assume that the home team gets to submit their lineup 2nd?

Who knows when Konopka was told he'd be sitting.

Fourth line tonight as Butler moves to the second line. If Butler blows it though, wouldn't surprise me if the two of them got switched.

Butler is really getting more of a look than Filatov.

It's interesting because I discussed that with Mrs_NyQuil the other day, and she supposed that it may be part of the "gentleman" aspect of MacLean's coaching.

In that, Butler was pencilled in as a top 6 guy and he's not going to have the rug yanked out from under him after an injury-plagued early start.

I wonder if we'll all have that much patience with Filatov doing well in the AHL.

well, it appears as if MacLean is purposely making sure that Filatov has a lot less pressure on him than Butler. Butler has the 1-way deal and played a lot of games down the stretch last season. He should be slightly more in sync with the team.
Filatov doesn't have the top 6 pressure to perform. He just has to go out there and play hard, be responsible and just get used to the system. He'll probably see PP time or even the odd shift on a higher line depending on how the game unfolds. But really, I think that they are easing him into the line up rather than throw him into the deep end.
