Jakub Voracek...

Good lord this man is infuriating. Here's a typical Voracek shift:
1. Get control of the puck.
2. Deke through entire teams defense
3. Circle around the net 500 times
4. Take a pathetic wrister over top of the net.

Seriously Columbus fans were not exaggerating when they said he floats around like a balloon...

Very talented, but needs to break some bad habits. I think he's gonna turn into a solid 1st line winger in Philly, but it'll take time.

he's a leino type; can be really effective with good linemates but the perfect combination hasn't been found yet. it'll happen.

I see alot of similiarities in Voracek's game compared to Marian Hossa in his first few years. It took Big Hoss about 3-4 years to become the world class elite winger he is today. Not saying Jake will be as great as Hossa is but I can see him following that same path.

Voracek is still only 22...but I agree that he needs to find his game soon. I expected this year, with a team change and playing with his idol, to be the year Voracek breaks out. Hasn't happened yet but still no need to be concerned.....he's going to find his stride soon.

From a CBJ fan perspective, the bolded seems awfully familiar. Best of luck to Jake. He just seems to be the happy-go-lucky type of guy though. I'm not sure whether he truly has the competitive fire necessary to take that step that we as fans think he is capable of.

hahaha came here to post the same thing, hemsky will dangle an entire team circle the net, take it out in the neutral zone and try the same thing again only to get a weak shot on net or get pokechecked by a dman. Voracek has the size and skill to be a first line player but i dunno he just cant seem to put it all together

Voracek was my favorite player here in Columbus and still is outside of the team.

He's only 22, plays regularly for the Czech WC team, has great hands and good vision. His size is good. He just has to put it together. I think the majority of his points will come as assists, but that's because he's that player.

He can't be worse than gomez.

Gomez shift :
He is probably the best player I have ever seen at rushing with the puck from the neutral zone to the offensive zone but after that he is basically the most predictable player ever as he would break just after the blueline and look for a cross pass through 2 or 3 players that is not there and create a turnover. Seriously he is deking like 2 or 3 players and skating full throttle and creating problems to the opposition defenseman with his speed and he just stop skating and the scoring chances he could have create by rushing to the net or even just dumping the puck to another open space or whatever he just blew it.

I get frustrated with Hemsky and I hate the guy lol, always trying the exact same move to get into the zone and he almost always fails to do so

He would look good with Kulemin and Grabovski.

I'll give you Macarthur and Franson

If he had Hartnells heart he would be awesome.Whoreacek at the moment is a Zherdev lite ?I am hoping he figures it out soon, because he has some excellent gifts in talent.

Jake can be infuriating, but I do believe he'll put it together eventually. The thing to tell yourself, Philly fans, is "he's only 22"

The guy has mad skills, and is an underrated passer/playmaker, as I suspect you know by now. His problems are puck handling and shot accuracy...I think those come with experience. If/when those do kick in, he's a top 20 winger.

And to the last poster: Jake is nothing if not all heart. That'll never be a valid criticism of that kid.

He reminds me of a younger Hemsky, Hemskys been much better in this regard although he has spent most of his time on the IR.

Hemsky can make good passes though, Voracek I've seen lose the puck in the opponent's zone or make a bad pass after doing some necessary stick-handling in his own zone. Don't like his overall game and haven't been impressed by him in Philly (I haven't seen them play since Schenn got injured though). JVR is much better with the puck than Voracek cos he can skate hard towards the net at least.

Hemsky 2-3 years ago would do the exact thing. Hes a lot better now with it, you dont see the go around the net a couple times any more. But he might pull it out eventually when he plays again (in MTL)

ALWAYS an extra move or two. All he needs to learn is that you'll do more with a little less. If he can learn that he'll be a hell of a player.

The OP couldn't be further from the truth to be fair. He's had a couple of rants about players. He was really shouting against Hartnell for a long while too.

Whats really impressed me about Vora is his defensive ability. It was massively underrated in Columbus.

Also, you can't teach size. Jake was learning how to protect the puck here in Columbus by using his body as well as his stick.

Jakub Voráček is one of the most overrated players in the league. Let me know when he scores more than 16 goals in a season.

He just needs time to recover from playing for the CBJ, seeing as we systematically brainwash our top prospects to be busts.
