Boris something. He used to be my rep, then they gave me stephanie. boris is probably handling this game for everyone. His title was "Rangers experience Manager" or something like that.

Got my survey (finally) and ranked prices highest to lowest. If I am going to spend that much money (not to mention airline tickets and hotel) I'd like good seats. And if and STH wants to pass along their ticket option, I need to find two more.

I ranked mine from the middle to the top and then the bottom. Really hard to know what the sightlines really look like ecept that sitting up top will be really bad even if it was the cheapest option but sitting at the bottom or in the outfield could be worse. I'd rather sit somewhere between the bases behind home plate but I doubt those seats will be available.

Non-season ticket holders (like me) will have a rough time getting these tickets. I have to go to this game. Ebay prices are sky high and do I sound crazy for wanting to pay so much for this once in a lifetime opportunity?

I put my order from Lowest to Highest. I'll probably get one of my first two choices since ive had tickets for 11 years.

I'll likely be going (already booked the room), but if I can make 4-5x the worth of the tickets on Ebay/Stubhub, I might just sell them. But I doubt they will go for that much.

You wouldn't just rather wait for the Rangers to have their home WC and avoid going into garbage Philly?

I got my tickets on eBay.. They weren't cheap.. but I think it was best if I got them now instead of waiting until closer to game time. I got the "package" deal where I have 2 seats to Alumni, WC and Phantoms AHL game (which I will not be attending)..

I'm so pumped I can't wait!

I bet Avery was brought up to boost ratings on this show.
He is the perfect annoying personality that will say anything for publicity.
Anything to make a buck hey Bettman.

Shouldn't it start sooner than that? I remember the Caps/Pens airings were once a week for the 4 weeks leading up to the Winter Classic...

It's a 4 part series that ends the week after the game since they have to cover the game as well.

You are correct, I just dug up this article from last year and it started Dec. 15th last season:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=538391

For some reason I had thought it started at the very beginning of that month, guess not!

I was thinking the same. Maybe they won't let anyone post until they have the tickets in hand? Either this year or last year they had the disaster with the Super Bowl where brokers were selling tickets before they actually had the tickets and a lot of people got screwed. They got their money back, but were out the tickets.

Truthfully, after seeing some of the buy it now prices on Ebay, I think I'll just forget about going. Seriously? $650/ticket + travel + hotel + concessions, not to mention horrific traffic = $2000+ for two people to attend this thing. I can afford it, but I can't justify it. I'd rather watch it on TV and spend less to spend a week in sunny Florida.

The problem i believe you're referring to was the Cowboys/NFL's selling of unapproved temporary seating that was never actually installed (as if that stadium didn't hold enough seats). Ticketholders got 3X the face value back which isn't too bad considering.

P.S. I see plenty of seats on stubhub.

P.S. When I posted two days ago there were zero tickets available. I know how to type "Winter Classic" in a box and hit "search". Imagine that.

Looking at those prices, if I am offered tickets, I might just sell them.

Those prices on stubhub wont last once more tickets are sold and more seats are available. Right now I think only flyers season ticket holders have anything.

Honestly, I think that is the NHL putting them up directly. Look at some of the quantities. How does one person have 12 seats together? 13 seats together? The leagues and teams are definitely selling direct on secondary sites (for all sports), and I think that is what we have. However, you are right, as more people start to post, prices will come down.

Its one of the oldest tricks in the book. The mets always do that, dump the unsold seats on stubhub for the going market price.
