Looks like it. It can be a bit fluid from week to week - sometimes voters are away and don't get ballots in on time. I haven't heard what our "official" voting total is this season.

Bob - what gives? You're comment would indicate either an error in the tabulation or a formal protest (which could overturn a game's results). The most popular protest is the use of an 'illegal player', but there could be 'illegal procedure')
Regardless - I suspect the current rankings would 'stand' with any possible correction coming next week in the next round of voting.
Whatever your suspicions - I hope they're resolved before this weekend starts.
Well how 'bout that, we're semi-relevant again. This next weekend should tell us a lot about what kind of team we have, StFX and SMU on the road, never been an easy road trip for us.
In the last 3 years combined we're 1-10-1 at StFX and SMU and the one win was in OT. Didn't even think it was that bad myself, ouch.
Regarding the top ten!
I still believe this is a very bias writers poll that really doesn't reflect the strength of a team or teams!
Alberta splits with a top 5 team arguable outplays them ( although that Steve Knowles is still adding shots for the average bears in between periods?) has an above 500 record and no move in!
Manitoba doesn't play and moves down?? arguably the best team in CW!
Acadia has a 500 record they are in?? Above teams who again have better records??
Moncton moves to 6 from somewhere...was there a 6 car pile up in turn 2?

Think about giving the top ten some credibility boys rather than satisfying your need to see your boys near the top???
You realize, of course, they mean nothing? They are a point of interest and debate. Having said that, I am well acquainted with two members of the polling committee. Both take their role seriously...they compare scores, weigh the strength of opponents, take into account performances to date...the guys I know don't just draw them out of a hat. But there are no rewards for being in the top 10 or penalties if you're not. Take them for what they're worth.

Acadia fell from 3rd to 9th. That's a lot in one week.
Moncton was 11th last week, and are now 5-1, and beat StFX and SMU on the weekend. How well they play against UNB this Friday will probably have a huge impact on their ranking next week.
I agree that idle teams are often overlooked by some pollsters. I don't think it is so much that Manitoba moved down as other active teams were voted above them - Saskatchewan and McGill. McGill did play in the CIS final last year and probably still get props because of that.
Do you think Canada West is somehow going to get spots 2, 3, 4 in a week? Not gonna happen.
Records are subjective. Nipissing is 6-1-2, have a comparatively weak "strength of schedule" and the only ranked team they've beat is Western, and that came in an overtime shootout. They're not in my Top 10. Neither is Acadia this week. Alberta is.
It it obvious, and unfortunate, that many voters are selecting purely on the standings and team records. Not much we can do about that.
fred i dont think this has anything to do with CW being 234 or 9 10 11 for that matter? alot of people take this stuff as a legit science and you guys are not scientists is all i am saying! your fun to read or listen to BUT totally bias or bigassed in robert's case!

Yea its weird to see Manitoba move down from being inactive, but Saskatchewan took over with a Better Record. Don't forget the week Before Manitoba moved from #3 to # 2 despite splitting with the weakest team in the Canada West Regina, including a 6-1 drubbing, so I think the voters were a little generous to them that week.
To say Moncton at this point doesn't deserve to move up to 6th Ranked Nationaly with with a 5-1 record in the AUS is silly, what makes Saskachewan 5-1, Manitoba 4-1-1 seserving to be higher ranked than Moncton right now?
The point is like someone said the bottom line is realisticly the rankings mean nothing, their is 17 voters from different areas of the Country voting, i guarenteee, some take it very seriously and love CIS Hockey and look very deep into the stats and matchups, while some probably don't give a sh@t and couldnt name who went to the University Cup Tournament last year.
Bottom line is if you wanna win the championchip, you have to beat the opponents you are giving to win your conference, or earn the Wild Card Out there. And at the University Cup you have a chance to prove if you are a winner or not, if someone still wants to complain at the CIS Championchip, that their ranking is unfair and they play tough opponents at the Championchip because of it, that wouldnt make much sence would it, to win you have to be the last team standing, if you can't beat a team than you probably shouldnt win the Title should you? Beat the best to be the best, who cares if your #1, # 2 # 6 or # 15 each team controls their own destiny
There is one Top 10 poll that means something, and that is the last one before the University Cup. Rankings in that poll determine the final seedings of the six teams that make it to Nationals. Hopefully after a whole season of voting, and a whole season of competition, the voters have a good handle on the teams' comparative strengths by then. Well that's the idea anyways.

really not debating whether moncton manitoba saskie whom ever should or shouldnt have moved.....even agree with the foyler's next post here it usually has some credibility near the end as everyone has played everyone, had a few bumpy patches and figured it out or crash and burned! the voting swings at the beginning just bug me! apparently not you guys who are veteran voters. carry on! the top ten is always great for discussion and I guess that is one of its purposes!

UNB slit the weekend, but won the key game showing everyone they can play tight D when needed. A bit sloppy on Saturday vs UPEI. Too many penalties, poor PK, poorer PP, a hot goalie and you have goalie #4 in the nets. Regardless - the game against UdeM shows that UNB can bring a tough game to the arena when they want.
A 3 point weekend for Nipissing vs #11 and #2. Not enough to stay in the top 10, dropped to #11 behind Acadia. They should be ranked higher - 3 loses in OT - they could be 10-1 and ahead of McGill.
Laurier got the spit on the road vs Lakehead. LKD has to do better at home vs last place in their division. I'm surprised they didn't drop a place or two.
