Oh, well, damn dude that sucks!

At any rate, they've been broken up for the past couple of games, though still playing together on the PP sometimes, etc

I didn't read all of the prior posts - I skimmed - so forgive me if it was talked about already (or don't), but it seems like Anisimov is suddenly struggling to find a place on this team. With Dubi-Richards-Cally looking decent the last few games, and the third line in place, what about Gabby-Anisimov-Stepan? You can flip Stepan and Anisimov between wing and center if you want. To hell with WW and Christensen. They shouldn't be getting more ice time then AA and Stepan. Do what you will with the 4th line at this point. That gives us at least 2 currently performing lines, and placing our best forward with two skilled, defensively responsible young players that I believe we'll need to perform for the team to succeed this year.

Anyway, my morning rant.

Dubinsky-Richards-Callahan

Wolski - Stepan - Gaborik

Feds - Boyle - Prust

Avery- Anisimov -Rupp/Deveaux

Christensen

Any new news on Staal?

Should consider trading WW + AA + picks/prospects for top 6 proven/young LW

down the line we're going to have problems affording everyone so someone's going to have to get trade/moved/unsigned eventually...

promote Newbury as 4th center then have true Fourth line of:

Avery-Newbury-Rupp

Why is Anisimov a given on the fourth line now? Why is WW getting preferential treatment?

Avery-Stepan-Gaborik
Dub-Richards-Cally
WW-AA-EC
Feds-Boyle-Prust

If Torts ever gives Avery a chance, would add some strength and grit to that line. He did well in that role the few times he had a chance last year. Assisted on more of Gaborik's goals than any other ranger.

You guys are out of your minds. Avery on the first line? He has no creativity and poor hands. I hate WW and EC together - the latter on the team at all. And when will Feds-Boyle-Prust be recognized on this board as the third line that they are?

Dubi - Richards - Cally
Anisimov - Stepan - Gaborik
Feds - Boyle - Prust
WW - Rupp - Avery/Deveux

Torts confirms same lines tomm via Peter Botte. Avery has also said he shouldn't be in lineup tomorrow either, hasn't skated in 2 days and the team played well vs sharks. Guess Sean is saying the right things so far. Also via Zipay, Henrik said it feels normal to have Avery back.

Yes they played well.... But come on.... Avery at the least has to play over deveaux... The word deserves bothers me.... Because Avery DESERVED to be on this team at the start of the season.... And remember I'm a torts guy....

That would be the second line if you ask me. Nothing wrong with having two top lines and you guys often put way too much stock in "top line player" playing on the top line. There are top lines all over the league with basically a third liner on the first because he battles and works great with the other two players. See: Downie, Burrows, Knuble. There are plenty more, do some research if you disagree.

I honestly think Feds-Boyle-Prust is a decent 3rd line, but I think ideally they are 4th line players.

This is a farce that I see happen all of the time. I don't mean for this to come across as an attack on you NYFan but what team in the NHL had a 4th line who all scored pretty much 30 points each last year?

really feel like Sauer is EXACTLY who MDZ needs to play with to play the game he plays and get good at it. It would be interesting to see McD-Girardi stick together when Staal gets back. I feel like Staal could make Eminger (or anyone else for that matter) look like an all-star.

I've been hoping to see

Staal Sauer
McDonagh Girardi

For a while now.

While I don't dislike Sauer with DZ, I strongly disagree that Eminger could play all those minutes with Staal.

But that's not Avery. That's Callahan.

They also got 3rd and almost 2nd line minutes at times. My point is I would rather have them as a 4th line that can all put up 20-30 points throughout the season, and have a more skilled 3rd line. Boyle, Prust, and Feds get a lot of ice time on special teams as well.

Very true. I just sometimes feel people have too high of expectations for spots in the line-up.

And to put things into perspective...

Boyle was a 20+ goal scorer with 16/21 being at ES...
Prust lead the league in SH Goals and can play well defensively + throw his weight around.
Feds compliments this line nicely and put up 25P in only 66Games.

All with limited minutes.

I'm excited to see Boyle continue to grow. I think he might even play himself into our top 6 by the end of the year.

I know Boyle had an amazing year last year, and I hope he continues to because he does have the ability, but remember he had 6 points the year before in 70+ games and this year only has 2 in 10 games. I hope he has another 20+ goal season, but lets not slate him into the top 6 until he shows some season to season consistency.
