Jokinen out 3-4 weeks, Rutherford says. Drayson Bowman to be called up from Checkers. Dalpe will be assigned to Charlotte for conditioning.
So much for day-to-day

LaRose can double shift as second line center.

Larose - Staal - Tlusty
Boychuk - Ruutu - Skinner
Dwyer - Sutter - Poni
AStew - Brent - Bowman
Boychuk in as the playmaker for skinner ruutu line

Bad news/luck to lose the real #1 C on the team. Skinner's been able to find his game again on Jussi's wing and Ruutu has begun to kinda show up since he's been on the other. I've really liked Jokinen this year, and (a couple mental flubs notwithstanding) he's played smart and agressive all season, holding the fort on the Top 6 both ways while others were out getting scalped.
With him out and some youth coming in, time for Ruutu to start earning that 4 mill.

I'm shocked that wasn't a broken ankle.
3-4 weeks is tolerable. I like Bowman, too. Powerplay and faceoffs will take a hit, though

I didn't see anything about what the injury exactly was, but a broken ankle seems like it would be a couple months. guess it depends on the severity of the fracture.

I wonder if Staal is emotionally upset over Jokinen's ankle.

Now JR has a built in excuse to keep Mo and bring back the exact same roster next season too!

Getting Jussi back from injury is like a new signing
Wait no that's my other favorite sports team.

The impact of this injury can be mitigated if somebody puts on his big boy pants and removes his head from his buttocks.

Oh yeaaah, that Staal guy. You know, he flew off sometime last spring and when he didn't appear on the radar this season it didn't even enter my head now that he'd be a possiblity to pick up the slack the loss of Jokinen the hockey player creates.
