To Pittsburgh: Jokinen, Van Ryn
To Florida: Palffy, Jackman, E. Christensen

... from a Pens fan's prospective.

Eh, that ain't bad but how much better is it than the current lineup? Also, as I said earlier in this thread getting rid of Palffy makes the 2nd line wings pretty ordinary.

And then what are the chances of Olli Jokinen re-signing with Pittsburgh when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in eight months' time?

Philly called.

They want Knuble back.

Thats exactly right.....add to that it would look very bad on a team to do that. I think future free agents would have that on their mind.....

I do not know who is staying up all night or what does it have to do with your question and my answer but I guess that was your way of "trying" to be funny. AND NO I am not saying Knuble is better then Palffy.
I will make sure to match seconds of ice time next time I answer your question as well as age, height and weight, religion, skin color and place of birth.
I guess 34 seconds WAS significant to you.
Knuble plays with Forsberg and Gagne in case you didn't know.

YOUR ORIGINAL POST IN CASE YOU DO NOT REMEMBER...

Knuble 15 points in 13 games +10 Knuble has 8 goals, Palffy 17 points in 15 games +3, Palffy has 6 goals.
Palffy played 2 more games. He makes 3.5 million while Knuble makes 1.5
To some people Knubles stats are more productive or at least simular.
I thought I had a legit reply but I guess I missed 34 seconds of ice time which I thought were irrelevant…

Well... two of them are getting less ice time, and one's a defenseman. So one would think it'd qualify. But you never know sometimes

So they're pretty close after 13-15 games. Knuble has scored 30 goals once, ONCE, in his seven full years in the nhl. He's had over 50 pts once, ONCE, in his seven years. Ziggy has scored 30 goals six times in 10 years, 3 of those over 40. The four years he didn't score 30, 2 were 20 goal years (22, 27) when he played 50 and 64 games. Last year was 16 goals in 35 games. So how is Knuble more productive again?

Back to the point, Ziggy isn't going anywhere. For 3.5mil his production would be difficult to replace.

Why would the Pens even stay on the table for this one?
First, take out Christensen. Second, Jokinen is a UFA at the end of the season. I also prefer Palffy over Jokinen.
Why don't you give them Malkin as well in your next proposal.

Yes, but some prefer Knuble over Palffy.
Knuble > Palffy > Jokinen

Who cares is Jokinen is a UFA? He fits our needs better than Palffy (who, BTW is going to be making more salary over the next two years) -- Jokinen is decent defensively and can actually take faceoffs. He also doesn't disappear for entire games when he's not scoring. Additionally, keep in mind that we've been very fortunate that Palffy hasn't been injured yet. When's the last time he played over 70 games in a season.

Van Ryn is a better defensive player than Jackman and has similar offensive abilities. He's a clear upgrade IMO.

Christensen evens the deal out so it's not a total steal for the Pens. With Malkin coming over here, Erik really doesn't have a place in the team's long term plans.

See it's pointless............. You do not even read replies, well maybe 30% of it. Kids with ADD often do that.
Once again go back and read it AGAIN and you will see that I specifically added for people such your self that Knuble is NOT better then Palffy but he is having a better season so far. You asked a question and I gave you a vet player who is arguable having a better or similar season making twice less $.
GO BACK TO YOUR ORIGINAL QUESTION!!! Do it 3 times if you have 2. GOD!

Well then read my original post and show me where I said better "season". I guess you didn't read my original question. I never asked for a better player, just more productive. And Knuble is not more productive than Ziggy.

Nice to see you had to make this personal. Have a nice day.

I don't think many teams would balk at adding a first line proven finisher making 3.5 million.
However, wasn't it for four years? And if it is, that's a bad contract.

Why? because he's only been producing 1ppg through the 1st 15 games of said K? Its way too early to say that.

And SL, I don't like that proposal. Van Ryn is an upgrade, but I don't like the rest one bit.

Besides, as I said above teams don't trade signed players after 15 games, they just don't. As Mothra added to my post, you start doing that, good luck with attracting further UFAs.
