That's too bad. I would have rather seen them become the mid level team than Chicago. That franchise is bound to fail being the 3rd hockey team in Chicago IMO. I guess they got it due to Chicago being the ECHL.
Atkinson gets the tieing goal on power play with less than 5 minutes to go and Russell gets thhe winner with an assist from Savard in OT to beat Hershey last night
Sorry for the non posting lately, busy busy past couple weeks.
10/21 v.s. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
The Falcons lost 3-0. Brad Thiessen was great in goal for the Pens earning the SO.
Manny Legace made his 1st start for the Falcons in 14 seasons, making 20 saves.
Wade MacLeod and Cam Atkinson are clicking very well together. Create good scoring chances.
Cody Goloubef was not hustling enough, especially towards the end of the game. Might be a conditioning issue, cannot say for sure.
10/22 v.s. CT Whale
The Falcons lost 2-1.
Wade MacLeod scored the Falcons only goal at 5:49 of the 2nd period. MacLeod scored from the right of the goal. Assists to Cam Atkinson & Ray Macias.
There was 1 fight featuring
Adam Mair v.s. Blake Parlett
Parlett went after Mair after Mair hit Mats Zuccarello in the head at the blueline. Zuccarello was down on the ice for a minute, but returned to the game. Mair would be suspended 4 games for illegal hit to the head. The fight was short and both landed shots, slight edge to Parlett.
Cam Atkinson had a few scoring chances and was robbed by Cam Talkbot in the 2nd period.
Nick Holden played well on the PK, but he was on the ice for both Whale goals
Brent Regner had a bad game, as he was on the ice for both Whale goals and seemed to be out of position a bit.
Dan Taylor had 26 saves.
10/23 @ CT Whale
The Falcons lost 4-1. I was not in attendance for this road game in Hartford, probably a good thing. This was a brutal effort from the Falcons.
Martin St. Pierre at 14:33 of the 3rd. Assists to Cody Goloubef & Ray Macias.
Brent Regner had another bad game, his turnover led to the Whale's 2nd goal.
Manny Legace had 27 saves.
10/26 @ Manchester Monarchs
The Falcons won 2-1.
Ray Macias opened the scoring at 3:37 of the 1st period. He grabbed a rebound of Nick Drazenovic's shot and put it past Martin Jones.
Martin St. Pierre scored at :48 of the 2nd period, this would be the GWG.
The Monarchs took control of the game, outshooting the Falcons 18-1 in the 3rd period. Taylor kept the Falcons in the game an allowed them to get the win.
Taylor finished the game with 33 saves.
10/28 v.s. Hershey Bears
The Falcons won 4-3 in OT.
Dane Byers opened the scoring at 12:53 of the 2nd with a PP goal. Assists to David Savard and Nick Drazenovic.
Tomas Kubalik scored a PP goal at 17:10 of the 2nd. Kubalik came down all alone on Holtby to score a beauty. Assists to Wade MacLeod & Cody Goloubef.
Cam Atkinson scored a PP goal stick side on Holtby at 14:17 of the 3rd. Assists to Dane Byers & Martin St. Pierre
Ryan Russell won the game in OT at 3:04. A nice pass from Savard to Russell who was streaking.
The Falcons went 3 for 5 on the PP.
The Falcons were down 0-3 and fought back to tie and win the the game.
Dan Taylor had 33 saves. Was flopping more than normal which led to a Bears goal while he was on his stomach.
Tomas Kubalik returned to the lineup after injury has kept his out since it occured in the 1st game of the season. He would re-injure himself during this game and is still not in the lineup as of today (11/3).
10/29 v.s. St. John's Ice Caps
The Falcons won 4-3 in OT for the 2nd game in a row.
Cam Atkinson opened the scoring at 8:06 of the 1st with a PP goal. He scored on a rebound of Drazenovic's shot. Assists to Drazenovic & St. Pierre.
Andrew Joudrey scored his 1st of the season at 13:51 of the 1st period. He deflected the puck stick side just over Aebischers pad. Assists to Savard & St. Pierre.
Nick Drazenovic scored at 16:27 of yhe 3rd period. Going glove side on Aebischer right off the face-off. Assist to Byers.
Nick Holden won the game at 2:18 of OT. Savard with a nice pass for the 2nd game in a row to set up the GWG. Holden scored from the left circle. Assists to Savard & St. Pierre.
Maksim Mayorov was injured when he went head & shoulder first into the goal post. He was down for a few minutes and was helped off the ice. I have not been told of the severity of the injury yet.
Brent Regner and Theo Ruth both are looking lackluster so far this season.
Cody Goloubef has improved, I like his pairing with Dalton Prout.
Prout is getting adjusted to the pro game. Hoping he starts using his size more, but uses it wisely.
Taylor with 38 saves.
A few notes...
Ray Macias was released from his PTO, because putting up points and a good puckhandling d-man is just not enough??
Steven Delisle was assigned to the Chicago Express (ECHL). No surprise, he was awful every game here.
Chaz Johnson has been signed to a PTO. He was in camp with the Falcons and has been playing in Chicago. Brings a physical presence. And stupid penalties unfortunately.
And as for the fan asking about Taylor, he has been playing well. A few soft goals. He has kept the Falcons in games, I can see him here until both Sanford and York are here. Legace has been OK, but Taylor is better.
I'm guessing Legace gets released from his PTO (he signed one of these, right?) whenever all the goalies get healthy? Sounds like Kubalik needs to chug some milk

Correct on both counts. Kubalik will never be compared to Johnny Wilson.

Kubalik should not come back until he is 100%. I do not think he is brittle, he blocked a shot and was injured. Might have pushed himself to come back too soon, as I believe it is just a re-aggravation.
Legace is the goalie I would release, he's been mediocre (I know I am a traitor to most Falcons fans that have been around awhile for saying that haha). Taylor has been good, last night he was average most of the night, a few good saves to keep it only 1 goal deficit.
Any NHL potential for Taylor? Is he worth the Jackets signing?
There has been interest from the KHL. He would prefer to play in the NHL. If he does get signed, we will be there for his first call up and be buying Taylor jerseys
After 7 games Chicago is now last in attendance in the ECHL averaging 2,360 despite having the best record. You have wonder how long this team will be around.
He has looked average most games. He only gets a few shifts a night, so it is hard to gauge if he is progressing in his game. I liked what I saw from him in pre-season and the first few games of the season before his time was cut. You can tell he is a good leader, stands up for his team. Unfortunately with the signing of Tim Spencer it would not shock me to see him sent to Chicago. Hopeful that it does not happen though.
Allen York was reassigned to Chicago (ECHL) today.
So, Springfield is keeping Danny Taylor and Manny Legacy as their goalies, neither of whom are signed to contracts with the Jackets.
Seems strange, unless there's a trade coming or Dex's injury isn't as severe as first thought. York is one injury away from being recalled again and he's in the ECHL?

Where did you see this reported? I haven't seen anything about this
