What game did you watch?

Our cycle killed them!

Goal 1: Letang misread Marleau, MAF misses the puck ever so slightly.

Goal 2: Amazing backhand. Hard to complain

Goal 3: Malkin gets stick caught, enables guy to make pass. Nisky misses assignment.

In no way did their cycle and size beat us. We took them to school for 40 minutes but gave them 20 minutes and thats all they needed. Not to mention all three shootout attempts were garbage. Who was mustache boy again?

Imagine if Orpik, and Malkin were also injured that game? We should just forfeit the rest of the season then.

Those shootout attempts were pretty brutal, too. Letang never seems to go to his money backhander anymore, Geno skated at the speed of a snail, and Dupuis ... yeah, I'm not really sure why he was chosen ahead of guys like Neal, Sullivan, or Kunitz.

you know we'll all blame you if anything bad happens saturday

Also, the Predators board has a poll of which of their players will be injured next. I feel we'd follow their suit if anyone could remember to put prediction polls up

What game did *you* watch? The Sharks were taking the puck in our zone and keeping it there for large sections of the second and third period and they took it to us in OT as well.

Then i'll keep cursing the Pens. At that point if Malkin, and Orpik are missing Saturday you know i am the one causing the injurie woes these past few years. Fleury i'm coming after you!

I'd say the Refs gave each team way to many liberties that kept quite a few shifts going for each side.

I don't get the purpose of not calling penalties, they're a part of the game.

The one consolation that I'm going to keep repeating to myself is that at least the Pens came away with 1 point, with a depleted lineup against one of the best teams in the NHL, in their rink. I'll just try to ignore the fact they blew another lead in order to earn that point.

Perspective....

We scored three goals, two of them off skates and one stick side from Engelland where the goalie had lost his stick....
After the first period we got pressured a ton, and while it always blows giving up a lead, San Jose earned it and considering the rosters I would have gladly sold this game for a point in advance.

Saving my other ups and downs for the plus/minus.

I think we are the only two in that boat, StK.

While everyone on our team is injured, I'm watching the games very relaxed and taking every result in perspective. Whatever outcome happens, I'm okay with. We aren't going to be #1 in the league with how many injuries we have. We do, however, look like a #1 team is our team is ever healthy.

The thing is it's happening with or without them during their streak.

Oh - one more thing to those going nuts over Dupuis..... he has the highest shoot out scoring percentage on the team, I believe. Above 40%.

Doesn't mean I'd have done what Bylsma did, I think, but it isn't insane to prefer him to Sullivan who has 0 on the year. considering that Neal leads us in goals and was money in the shoot out last year... that puzzles me somewhat more.

On the flip side, we scored 3 fluky goals.

However, we played without Crosby, Staal, Kennedy, and Michalek. And we dominated them 1st period, but played like a regular 3rd period when we have a lead.

Dupuis has played very little compared to the other 2 guys IIRC.

At this rate, I'm not sure when we'll ever actually see that team (the healthy one).

Hopefully Staal is back for the Kings game, and then hopefully Sid makes his long anticipated return when the Pens return home against Dallas. That'll be a (huge) start.

Trust me... I'll flip out when they blow one. This really isn't one of those times.
You say San Jose upped their game - which they did - but we didn't, and that's my problem. With the lead on the scoreboard in control of our own destiny, we didn't even have to match them in that third really, just put up some kind of response.

I generally find our third period play to be pretty poor. We've lost twice relinquishing late leads so far this season, and made another one far more difficult that it should have been in Calgary, where we managed to flatter ourselves on the scoresheet a little with an empty net goal.

And to compound the frustration, as I was saying before, it only ever seems to happen to us and never for us these days. Good teams are going to play good hockey against you, that's not a surprise. But as a good team ourselves, I like to think we can be better, much better, at sealing the deal in these kind of games.

Eh, it's a long season. I don't really think it's like football where if a good team loses they're supposedly full of piss and vinegar the next game.

Timeouts are also our killer, it's INSTANT momentum for the other team (atleast the other teams timeouts). I remember last season when Flyers got a timeout, i said "Flyers will score 2 goals" and it happened within a minute.
