Arthoscopic is nothing..He should be walking in a few days..He will be out 2/3 weeks..The hate for Rupp and players like him here is a joke..Does anyone know of another Rangers Forum besides this one?

Arthroscopic is the methodology used to perform the surgery. What he's having done is a whole other thing. He could have a dual ACL, MCL tear for all we know and that's far from nothing putting him out months even though the surgery would be performed arthroscopicly.

Just saying he's having his knee scoped means nothing. We need to know WHY he's having his knee scoped before we'll have any idea how long he'll be out for.

If I had any guess, it's not good and he's going to be another body added to the LTIR mess.

How many scopes have you had on your knees; not as cut and dried as you might imagine. vipernsx put it very succinctly, what is he having done to his knee, not how its going to be operated.

You do realize a scope is preliminary. The scope isn't the surgery, it's to decide if he's going to need it.

I don't even know what that Deveaux guy brings to the table. He's not even that tough.

No hate on Rupp, but the fact is losing him isn't going to hurt this team significantly. He's a nice guy but he's a 4th liner, and we already have a 4th line. Hope everything goes well with the surgery.

I cannot believe all of the angst over having a few extra players in the organization. Best case, depth comes in awfully handy. Remember what happened to Vancouver's defense last year and more relevant (but before some of you were born); how about the Rangers forward lines in 1997 playoffs. The team was so decimated by injuries, Dallas Eakins (a journeyman career defenseman) came up from Hartford and played a regular shift on the 3rd line because there was no one else. The Rangers couldn't even field a 4th line of any consequence.

I like having extra players around. Deveaux was a good signing, so is Strahlman. Would you rather trade a piece of our cherished future for a fill in player?

Oh we have a ready made replacement in Avery? Why'd we sign Rupp then?

Bad move Sather. Rupp didn't show me anything & perhaps I'm still strongly disliking him because of his Devil days.

Not that Tough????

He fought Parros to a draw last nite. I think Parros is the Heavyweight Champ of the NHL.

I never was a fan of Rupp. But he wears blue now so I'll cheer.

But I'd rather have Avery in his spot. Flame all you want.

Rupp is not a useless enforcer. He has skill and once he is healthy, he will contribute to the team.

have we forgotten Vinnie Prospal had a scope last year; remember his rehab and how long it took? not looking for argument but everyone who has a scope is unique; yours was a cartilage, mine ended as micro-fracture surgery; rehab was a ***** and took almost 6 months to heal, still better than the old days when they had to cut you open and you were guaranteed to miss the whole season we will not know until after surgery and doctors let us know

Not as a Ranger. I'm definitely willing to give him time, as I think he's a good player, but he hasn't done anything for us that Deveaux hasn't.

Deveaux's played two games while Rupp's played seven. Too small of a sample size to judge either as Rangers.

I was strongly opposed to signing Rupp from the very beginning.

This is exactly what I thought once he got hurt.

I guess people are sensitive about 4th line goons not working out, but that's not really what Rupp is...can't understand the blind hatred. He's looked decent in the games he played. He didn't go out and score or anything but I'm pretty sure that's not why we signed him. And he got owned by Parros, but anyone that knows anything should know that shouldn't come as a surprise...

There's no way a torn meniscus can be recovered from in 4 weeks. 6 at the earliest and 8+ is more likely.
