Our biggest need right now is a player like Chris Neil!
That would be our biggest!

David Clarkson, Brandon Prust, Scott Hartnell (a much better tough player who can score 25+), Steve Downie, Steve Ott, Paul Gaustad, Shawn Thornton, Aaron Asham.

Might not be our biggest need, but boy were we stupid to trade Asham.

Meh, when we traded him he was not the player he is today. + I remember bring super happy when we got Czerckawki, he was really good in his islanders days, and we didn't have the toughness issue back thn that we have now.

Top-6?

We need someone for the Kostitsyn-Eller duo. The top-6 (whatever you want to call it, I consider our top-3 lines equals)

Centers, Chad Larose in the top 6... Some people really
need to learn hockey if they think that's our biggest need..

I'd say Gaustad has no place in that list. Dude's a gamer, no disrespect to the others.

You can't possibly be serious?

You'd replace Pacioretty gionta or Cammy with a guy who had 31 points and -21 last year and is 5'8"?

Then we'll go a few games without a fighter, and the same people will whine to get another enforcer, but another one that they've been wanting for a long time. Cycle starts all over again. Laraque was the guy everyone wanted. Pens fans warned us over and over again about his polite fight requests that never lead to anything. He was the best in the league at what he did and he still wasn't enough to quench the fight-lovers thirst for punches-on-ice.

I don't want a fighter on this team. We have tough guys like Moen and White who can also play hockey. We're good. It's not what's at stake here, and I don't want to start a debate, but fighting won't be part of this sport for too long. Hard surface, unfit equipment, no gloves, players having to worry about their balance, exposing them to dangerous shots... It makes no sense to keep this shenanigan going.
I'm fed up of wimps who don't like fighting or what not in the NHL. It's been there since its inception of hockey & will continue to be there. Whoever doesn't like fighting in hockey...go watch figure skating or another soft sport.

Right now the canadiens are going to battle to a gun fight with a spoon with other team's tough guys. I have season tickets & watch constantly the Habs getting pushed around. Laraque himself said that playing the Habs was a joke cause they had no one to defend them.

Concerning going around John Scott cause he sucks on D, well very simple; send Blunden down & put him as a forward.

I wouldn't say fighting is "in hockey" - more that it's a sideshow to hockey, with no impact on wins and losses, with little relationship to the rest of the game. I like a good fight, that's why I'm a boxing fan. On skates, it's just silly. Punchscapades.

I never said it impacts the wins-loss column, but the point is we have someone who can definitely protect our smaller players. It gives our team a boost I would say when you see our enforce KO theirs.

My favorite sports are hockey/boxing as I used to box myself
