Only if it was 1930 and people still listened to radio, when there was HDTV as an alternative. He needs to get on the CSN feeds. Too bad Beninati was canned from Versus. That would have been a perfect way to get Walton on TV.

The stat that is jumping out at this early point is the goal differential. No one else is close.

Meh, I still catch a reasonable number of games just on radio.

Great game. Carolina really never stood a chance, despite being up 1-0 I thought the Caps were able to carry play for most of the first.

Rest Hamrlik a few games when Green is healthy and I'll be a happy camper. I just love what Erskine brings to the team.

I hope everyone saw that Halpern was aware he had a left shot at RD and put it off the boards right onto Karl's tape. Not surprisingly, we scored right after that. It amazes me how little I have seen that play over the decades.

Its nice to have one person in the lineup that teams dont like to play against. Erksine

nuOvi coming down the ride side passing on the 5th goal. I want to see more of that.

My fav 2 on 1 play, Semin immediately passed the puck after gaining the zone. Cody Red not Dead Eakin aching to score wasnt going to miss. It was almost a breakaway he had frozen the Dman handling the puck.

ovechkin for 2 first rounders or a 1st and a second would be the wisest thing this organization could do right now.

Priceless.

(And, again for the record, I'd probably be just as pissed as he was; it's just the reaction that's so amazing).

I'd appreciate if we could limit the troll-quoting. K thanks.

As for the game:

Three good:
1- Puck movement on the PP (though it was over-passed a bit at times).
2- Bottom 6. They controlled the game tonight.
3- Cody Eakin with a multi-point game in his 2nd NHL appearance. Shame he has no soul.

Three bad:
1- Hamrlik. Caused multiple 2-on-1s getting caught flat-footed and took a penalty another time. Not much offensive contribution.
2- Severely out-hit. Need to ramp up the physicality.
3- Neuvirth's rebound control was very shaky. Didn't cost him, but it will if he doesn't step it up.

On the plus side, 5-1 and 9-2. +17.

Pour out a tall one. I dunno. Cheers.

Great game...

One of the Alex's poor back heck leading to turnover and face off plus sarge not tying up stick on goal is about only negatives I had. Ward had a bad clear and nbtw handled the other minor stuff.

Skinner stick-skate-stick shot on wides near end of game was ******* beautiful.

Oh... Semin's overplaying the puck, especially at blue line also a "come on man".... But that pass that early to Eakin was probably the most unselfish play I've ever seen from him.

Backstrom is god mode with body again.

Someone just destroy ruutu please. Looking at u 26. He must hate Wideman or something.

Nice stat:

The Caps have the most balanced offence in the league, with 17 different players having scored a goal.

If this has been asked I apologize, I am just now starting the 3rd period after working late tonight, but when Green comes back which defensman should sit when Green comes back? I will say it shouldn't be Erskine, that guy brings much needed blueline grit and he needs to get into game shape. The Hammer has earned the right to watch a game or two from the press box, IMO. Even JFS has played ok, for him, lately.

Wow that was a hell of a game. Subtract the first 18:30 of the game and that was the most dominate I can ever remember the Caps playing. It looks like they combined last years defensive effort with some scoring. Scary stuff for the rest of the NHL.

And Jeff Halpern giving Carlson a nut shot at the end of the game was a perfect ending.
