Anyone else love to see what happens with JT and Grabner?

JT's no longer got cement feet.

I'd be epi-curious to see what that tandem might bring.

(and yes, Moulson looks like complete **** out on the ice right now)

i do want to see them together. The problem is, Grabner has ZERO playmaking ability. He's a really lousy passer & he has very little vision out there. Of course it would be JT setting up Grabner, but Grabs would also need to set up JT.

That's why I'd want Okposo on the right side. We've seen it before. KO can pass & score. I'd like to see that line for a few games.

What? They were great together in Tavares' rookie year.

Tavares can play with anyone...but I agree with this. I never liked Nielsen-Okposo, I think Bailey-Okposo would be better and I'm sure Tavares-Okposo would work as well.

Lines will be changed Saturday

“We are going to change the lines, but I’m not sure yet how set in stone and who’s going to go where,” Capuano said. “But the lines will be changed.”

I think if you look back to the end of 09/10... JT and Comeau were clicking in a big way. Somehow Gordon puts Parenteau in Comeau's spot to start 10/11 and the JT/Comeau process ended.

Just send Tavares out without any wingers.

Ok I'll play the line game, having nothing else to do this friday night.

Going for sweeping changes...

Comeau-JT-KO--KO and JT have had chemistry and cycle the puck well
Grabner-Nielsen-Moulson-Nielsen can feed Moulson, Grabner and Nielsen jive
Martin-Bailey-PAP-balanced line
Rolston-Reasoner-Pandolfo-washed up vets

What would you guys think about moving Okposo to center and putting Frans out on JT's wing? Frans hasn't been great offensivly by any means but he can get the puck in the neutral zone and open up space and is a good passer. He's also so solid defensivly that it may allow for Tavares to try to cheat a little more offensively, Frans is a big upgrade over PAP or Moulson in our own zone.

Here would be my shakeup once Nino is ready to come up (assuming of course that he does):

Grabner-Tavares-Okposo
Comeau-Nielsen-PAP
Moulson-Bailey-Nino
Martin-Reasoner-Pandolfo/Rolston/Gillies

1st line puts Tavares between the two wingers that can create the most space for him. Hesitant to break up Grabner/Nielsen, but they've hardly been lights out this season so I think it can be done. Grabner can finish chances that Tavares sets up and open up space with his speed, Okposo is our best winger along the boards and as a righty shot who is more of a playmaker these days would do well in getting the puck to Tavares. Both are also good at puck retrieval, which I think would Tavares as well. Taking PAP off the first line will likely result in a drop in production, but if it gets Okposo going, then the tradeoff could likely be an improvement for the team overall.

I prefer Comeau on the left side, as he's a better shooter than playmaker, IMO, and the left side gives his righty shot more open net to aim at, as well as allows him to one time shots easier. He is also pretty solid along the boards and when he's going has a good physical game, which would look good next to Nielsen. PAP benefits from having two guys who can skate, w/ one being good physically and the other being very solid defensively, helps make up for his gaffs, and he can help create opportunities for them in the offensive zone. All of this of course hinges on Comeau playing hard consistently and playing a shoot first game, which is never a given with him, unfortunately. So he could lose his spot to Moulson and find himself back on the 3rd line.

Nino I think would work on Bailey's RW, as he is a lefty shot and his offensive game is largely firing the one timer. Bailey's probably never going to be broken of being a pass first player, so playing him with a shoot first guy seems like the most logical path, which is exactly what Nino is. Moulson is another guy who has good finishing ability for Bailey to set up. Moulson will likely see a dip in production, but since he is not producing that much anyway, it's not a major concern, and it's not like he really needs great playmakers to score as much as he just needs the puck to get to the net.

4th line is pretty self-explanatory. But I think this lineup would help get the top 9 scoring more as a whole at ES, which is something the team badly needs to get going.

I'd like to see Bailey moved to wing with Tavares and Okposo, You can have Rolston play center on 4th line moving Reasoner to the 3rd line. Bailey's best stretch of hockey came playing wing in his rookie year.

That's exactly what I posted in the GDT last night. I'd love to see these lines.

I'd like to throw a question into this mix if I can, for everyone:

Do you think simply mixing the lines is going to wake the club from its slump?

In 2009, Kyle Okposo and John Tavares were outstanding together. Gordon broke their line up because the Isles weren't getting any scoring from any other line. At the end of the same season, Blake Comeau and JT formed a dynamic duo during the last month of the season. Why either play hasn't been put back on a line with Tavares is puzzling to say the least. I would like to see either player, plus JT and Nino on the top line. Unfortunately both Comeau and KO have been awful so far but this could be the change these guys need to get going.

On a side note: Josh Bailey absolutely sucks

I like these. Except we should trade Reasoner for a pair of laces for JT's skates
