not really. I'm not sure how Empty netters are in juniors, but considering the average leader at the end of an NHL season is like 5 empty netters..being on pace to get 13-14 is pretty crazy.

He has 3 empty goals because he has 22 goals in 16 games. If someone in the NHL had 22 goals in 16 games i am sure 2-3 of them would be empty netters.

I also dont know how anyone can hold scoring empty net goals against him. He has the puck and the net is empty, what is he to do? Not shoot and score?

Take away his 3 empty netters then he has 19 goals in 16 games still first in the WHL and still amazing. Taking away his empty netters gives him 33 points for 3rd in the WHL and 2 points out of first - still amazing.

All he was stating is that he does not believe Etem will maintain such a pace over the course of a 72 game season. He pointed out his 3 empty net goals, and 6 six shorthanded goals as reason why he came to that opinion.

Do you honestly believe he will have roughly 13 empty net goals, and 27 shorthanded goals by the end of the season? Tough feat to be sure...

Thats all he was suggesting.

Seems like he got into a fight or got a 5 minute major for something since he's on 11 PIM.

He simply cherrypicked a stat and others countered it, what's the problem?

The insinuation was, he is stat padding, which is not the case, 6 SHG's say otherwise IMO

Wow 22 goals when 2nd best has 14 according to Eliteprospects. I think he was major disappointment at 2011 WJC. I'm hoping to see him at 2012 WJC.

As I recall he was playing on the 3rd/4th lines last year and was asked to play a more defensive role as he is a very solid 2way player.. This year he will obviously be on the top lines as one of the go to guys. No question about it...

Because there is nothing to counter and it is not cherrypicking. When do some of you start to realize this. 6 SH goals and 3 empty netters in 16 games is not common. That's 40% of his goals total. In retrospect to somebody who thought he might hit 70. Everything is possible but based on the things above, that's highly unlikely. That's why his stats are currently a bit inflated.

Does not mean he had to dump the puck in the corner instead of putting it in the net or that he is a crappy player.

I'm glad some people do understand it, that says enough.

kid is a flat out stud, simple as that. the Ducks performed two acts of robery in that 2010 draft, first Fowler, then Etem.

Obviously he wasn't good enough to be in top 6 last year.

The short handed goals suggest a high skill level that was where I was getting at, you can't arbitrarily remove numbers from players.

If such and such scores 60 percent of his goals in the first period, that doesn't make them any less valuable, or tell you anything about someones talent.

In another topic a poster railed on Etems vision, I went to their website and watched some of the game hi lites

http://www.tigershockey.com/video/in...840668c06419d3

the passes he's making don't seem to be that, of a player with poor vision

Goals in 16 of 17 games....that's a ridiculous pace.

What are you constantly trying to say ? Where did I say he has a lack of talent, no vision or whatever ? You obviously dont get it.

I rather go back on topic because this is completely useless.
