Zednick-Koivu-Kovalev
Tkachuk-Ribeiro-Ryder
Bullis-Bonk-Sundstron
Perezhogin/Plecanek - Begin - Higgens

Markov-Rivet
Brewer-Dandenault
Boullion-Komisarek

Theodore
Danis

HABS add 6 million in salary - lose 2 million in Souray, and two good prospects.

we can absorb the cost this year - make a "run"? Dags ain't gonna take our 2nd line anywhere.

Brewer is a stud on D for many years to come....Tkachuck is a wild card - maybe a good run makes us a contender / hopeful - his addition to a 2nd line, physical presence could be huge - make an impact

In my books, Danis is good so far - we have young forwards to absorb the loss of Kostytsin.

Funny - he hasn't been a problem in the locker room in St. Louis. If anything, he's been one of the most team-focused players we've had. I could easily name 5 current or former Blues who've been a cancer in the Blues locker room.

Considering it seems a lot of people are down on Koysitsyn for not embracing the team concept of hockey, yeah - I'd say he's working on the "mid range" part pretty nicely. And as I said before, Price just clogs up things in net for us since we have 4 solid prospects there. The last thing we need is another goalie prospect.

Fine. We're not taking Souray or Price, and judging from what I'm hearing about Koysitsyn I'm not impressed right now.

I'll get back to you on this.

BTW - The Blues do not have to make a trade. They are not over the cap or even close.

Bottom line, they don't have to take mid range prospects and an older Dman who has had one good year in the NHL. There are better offers here on the board and available.

Blues get the young players they need and want to re-build.
Most Habs fans are down on Hainsey and Andrei K hasn't lived up to the hype that posters on this board created for him - not that any prospect could.

I don't think the Blues need to get rid of Brewer at this point. Are we in a rebuild, Yes. But you dont need to get rid of 26 year old players during a rebuild.

If we deal him, it will be a quality for quality trade - not really involving prospects.

If we are looking to move Brewer to Montreal - I would want the deal based around Perezhogin. A number 2 dman for a top 6 forward. Brewer is more established, Perez is younger. If Montreal isn't interested, fine, no trade.

Perezhogin is going no where. Keep Brewer.

I said not that bad. I didn't say it was fair. My point was the Hab fan didn't deserve being attacked.

Take Tkachuk out and I might consider it. But his inclusion is a deal-breaker from this Hab fan's POV. We don't need his baggage.

Aside from that, take Price out too, because the Blues have plenty of depth in G prospects, and he's worth more to us than he is to them.

Okay, cancel the whole deal, because why should St.Louis trade Brewer at all, really.

I wouldn't mind sending them a prospect like Kostitsyn for just a veteran at some point, if they go into full-scale rebuilding. Weinrich is getting a bit too old to be really interesting, I don't think they'd trade their captain Drake, but it's more that order of deal that I could see maybe working for the Blues... prospect like Kostitsyn for mid-level veteran in the context of a total rebuild for STL, if that should happen.
