NYR would have to IR Rupp before recalling Bourque to stay within roster max....

Rupp on IR...Rangers now with one extra F (Wolski out tonight) and one extra D (Stralman)

The Rangers could call up another player besides Bourque for the NHL salary

Lee Baldwin at $900,000. Cam Talbot at $900,000. Carl Hagelin at $875,000.

Bourque just got back from a concussion so if someone calls up I would guess Hagelin. All depends on how bad Wolski is

The Rangers would not have allowed Staal to play in the spring if he was having issues. Staal passed his baseline test. The headaches occurred in the summer when Staal started to skate again. Rangers trainer Jim Ramsey has dealt with Mike Richter,Eric Lindros,Jeff Beukeboom and Pat Lafontaine when they had concussions.

Staal had a cortisone shot in his neck because the MRI showed something was putting pressure on his nerves. Cortisone shots are given when someone has a issue with a disk in the neck. Headaches are one of the symptoms from a slipped disk. Sather said Staal might have a "slipped disk" on September 26. Staal had the MRI and cortisone shot that day.

How close to the ceiling do you need to be to place someone on LTIR? Also, how long does someone need to be out in order to be placed on LTIR?

This is 100% true. My mother has been going through something similar from a car accident with 3 herniated disks and 2 bulging disks in her neck. She deals with Migraines EVERYDAY. Injections help, but only for a little while. Hope he gets better very soon.

with Wolski and Rupp on the IR do they even need to put Staal on it or does that create more space?

No idea how the rule works
