I liked when they showed NHL goal-scoring leaders since (what) 03-04....Patty 3rd in very good company. Patty is, and always has been, a goal scorer. (except one year) Right now he's chippy, when he gets a run going, he's as good as anyone, including Crosby or OV or Stamkos, anyone!

OK, enough man-love for my boy.
Pitt was Patty's best game. Led the team in hits. Really strong on his stick, faceoff monster, a couple of takeaways. Really working the give and go a lot away from Thornton. 2 goals from give and gos in the game. JT hardly ever does give and go, especially the quick kind; it was Havlat. The G&G's are high percentage moves.

Just a note for others. Pretty obvious the Todd was going for 3 scoring lines in the way he was playing mix and match. He also pretty much ditched the Winchester and/or Murray experiments for 3rd line. I wouldn't be surprised if Ferriero gets another try or TM bends DW's ear.

Agree that was Patty's best game. He was actually going to the puck instead of waiting for it or god forbid staring at it as someone digs it out from between his legs

Seriously, hope he keeps playing like he did last night. Complete game and really stood out on the ice more than anyone else from beginning to end.

Was at the game last night. Had no idea they were going to do a celebration for Thornton. Saw his brother out by will call while I was waiting for my friend but had no idea who he was. Some other items he was given as gifts include: framed scoresheets and pucks from his first game with a point and his 1000th game with a point, a family vacation, tiffany crystal grade awards for both 1000s from a rep of the nhl, and maybe one other thing I don't remember.

My buddy I went to the game with is a Pens fan from Pitt so we had some good laughs going back and forth all night. Once he got there as it took him 2 hrs from SF. He loved the booing of the Taco Minute haha.

As mentioned everywhere a very sloppy first but then a nice turn around for the rest of the game.

Or slowly turning in circles in the wrong direction looking for it while it is right behind him.

Didn't know Thornton was a history buff.

He's a Ron Paul supporter, has his brother for his agent, is a history buff....interesting personality...

There was a clue. A few summers ago, he spent his off-season on visiting some, if not all, of the 7 wonders of the world.

Good points. I always liked him playing center. It seems he takes more responsibility when not under another center.

Oh nooooo I wish I didn't know that about Joe. Although as far as that sort of thing goes, Ron Paul is the least damaging to my esteem of him out of all the possibilities.

And here's that darn interview nobody wanted to link for me:
http://video.sharks.nhl.com/videocen...32407&catid=-6

I hereby christen this season's motto ... "**** already happened ... don't worry too much about it"

EDIT: I watched the shootout again on nhl.com ... I noticed this last night too but Logan had Fleury. He had the 5 hole open, he just shot it into his pad. That's why Fleury was looking around after.

Green Party? You thinking of Ralf Nader? Ron Paul is a libertarian Republican and totaly old and grey. And shouldn't this kinda think be in the politics board?

Just stating a fact. Injuries are part of the game, and its not an excuse. However, I imagine you'd also consider missing your equivalents of Crosby, Staal, Kennedy and Michalek a bit of a factor. It is more than 25% of our cap after all.

Just the same, you have to beat the team in front of you, and your team overcame a bad start against a still good team that was getting three goals from two 'skate and in' situations plus one shot stick-side with your goalie missing his stick.

Full merit for the win. Said nothing to the contrary. Yours is a great team to watch and personally I've had San Jose in the Conference finals against Chicago since before the season.

Don't know where you're getting this idea Joe is a Ron Paul fan. Be careful when you make these claims, fabricated political affiliations aren't the fairest thing to report about.
