  • Afleet Alex is lingering in the back of the pack.
  • Jeremy Rose has yet to make a move on him and he's running unstrongly.
  • Giacomo leads but...
  • Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still.
  • Afleet Alex is opening up with a tremendous burst of energy. He's five lengths in the lead.
  • A compelling outstanding performance by the plucky Afleet Alex. He won by six or seven lengths.

Do the Flyers intentionally try to be as vague as possible with disclosing injuries?

Dustin Leed was talking about someone seeing his nameplate removed from his locker.

Yes, and much of it originates from a policy enacted in 2008 from the GM Meetings. It was a topic of conversation at that time which was designed as intentionally clandestine. Here is a column from that period:

http://mirtle.blogspot.com/2008/09/t...jury-info.html

Quote:
At their June meeting, the National Hockey League's 30 Club General Managers voted to modify the policy pertaining to the disclosure of player injury information. The new policy, which takes effect immediately:

Clubs no longer are required to disclose the specific nature of player injuries. Clubs are, however, required to disclose that a player is expected to miss a game due to injury, or will not return to a game following an injury. Clubs are prohibited from providing untruthful information about the nature of a player injury or otherwise misrepresenting a player’s condition.

Be prepared for a whole bunch of upper- and lower-body descriptions.

So the injury bug continues to bite the team how long before we run into problems with it and the cap?

Nodl is such a nothing player recently. He had that great goal scoring streak last season and hasn't done a thing since.

Waived, he blows. There are five guys in the AHL who could do a better job.

I still have "some" hope for him but his play of late does not really excite me in the least.
