That I can agree on. I would have started shooting pucks at the refs after the calls on the Blunden hit/post-hit shenanigans.

The refs weren't particularly good tonight, you guys are luck you're playing a team that's been known for having a terrible powerplay. To the Canadiens credit, their PK was excellent for the most part. Very smart and cerebral.
Fair to say the Habs got the short end of a couple of really bad calls. But that's hockey. Despite the early fight, it was a clean and exciting game. Nice win for you guys.

Yeah, the refs screwed us in the first period. We only had one penalty against us in the 3rd.

We lost because of poor passing, an abandonment of the aggressive forecheck (for the love of God Jacques, did you happen to notice the aggressive forecheck that the Rangers had that bottled us up on simple breakouts) and overall sloppy and passive play.

**** the refs but also **** Jacques Martin for his hideous ideal of how the game of hockey should be played.

Ah nevermind.. Not worth the time replying to you..

So apart from the refs (who I believe made bad calls on both sides), would this be deemed a "good loss?"

I saw this in a playoff game, i don't remember, it was 2 or 3 years ago. It's not the first time this kind of penalty as been called.

But the too high touching puck with the stick call on Gionta at the end of the third was for me the confirmation that the refs tonight were not ok at all in this game. I watch it two times in slow motion on my Pvr and (i think it's Peel call) the ref was ****ing wrong.

There are no good losses. But there are great efforts in losses....and that was one of them.

Don Cherry ragequit after Ben Scrivens was pulled, or did the Ottawa game go on too long and he had to go to bed?

I wonder if Martin can blame this loss on Specialty teams and goaltending.

Can't play the guy when you're on the PK all game.

As bad as the calls went our way, Martin dropped the ball twice. 1, Price should have been off tonight cause of the back-to-back...wasn't the reason to sign Budaj to give Price more nights off?

Plus Budaj has a winning record against the Rags.

2, the high stick call with 40 seconds left...Price should have been in net!!!!

40 seconds, you lose the draw they shoot on a empty net, we have Price in they don't have that option. You win the draw you can pull your goalie and get the extra attacker out quick.

Martin, the game has passed him by long, long ago.

We had penalties that weren't penalties, but we took a lot of stupid stick penalties as per usual too. Why are we hooking guys in the neutral and offensive zones????

Even on Canadiens.com, Blunden and Noki have been scrubbed from the roster.

Martin is sending a message. Fight and you will be benched and removed from the stat sheets.

Price had six days off before the last two games.

Some bad calls on the Rags would have been welcomed since they were hardly called for anything.. The refs didn't see the team in blue tonight.

Listening to the anthem singer in Phoenix makes me think that not doing them before games might be a good idea.

I counted 4 PGT's started all with fck-the-ref's theme. Entertaining game, best not to shoot it out on the road.

Time for some balanced reflection - the team's not a 1-5-2 team, it's not a 4-0 team, it's a team that is where it is and needs to work hard every night.

Faceoffs continue to be a major concern.

Good effort, no break from the refs, some penalities were deserved, others not, and the refs missed some call on the other side.. frustrating game..

Also, I dont get the love for Desharnais, some are saying he has super vision but thats really nothing to write about, especially for a such small overmatched player with no speed.. His passes lack accuracy, too many times its in the skate of a linemates or guys have to slow down to get it.. Marginal NHLer to say the least.. Leblanc will have no prob to outplay him next camp..

The habs played bad.
I cant accept to put the fault to the refs.

2 high sticks penalty
1 unsportmanship penalty.

Atrocious faceoff
Plekanec 9-25 / 36%
eller 3-13 / 23%

Loss deserved

Anyone watched the Oilers this year? Are they as good as their record would indicate?

And that stat is a major reason Martin should have had Price back in the net for the centre ice face off.
