Last years team was 29-0 with a lead going into the 3rd. Your point is non valid

Too many men is pretty obvious. 2 minute bench, but the whistle isn't suppose to go till Montreal touches the puck. So the play would still go on, no whistle yet.

The Rangers are going in on a 3 on 2 until a player illegally on the ice "interferes" with the play by checking the puck carrier. Even though the hit was of the legal variety is was called interference because that player was illegally on the ice.

The actions of Blundell interfered with a Rangers odd man rush, hence the interference penalty.

Anyone got a better explaination?
I think that people need to stop focusing on whether or not it was a clean hit or not... or even whether or not it was a hit at all. I seem to remember the puck being away from Dubinsky before the point of contact (I need to see the replay)... which would mean it was just a flat out obstruction call.

Yeah, it was. The only replay I did get to see earlier was at a different angle and the puck looked much further away. My guess, at this point, is that the interference penalty happened first (before the skater was technically off the bench) and the too-many men happened after, because it was still a while before the other player got to the bench.

Edit: actually, that can't be right either, because Blunden pushed forward on the play. I think, because interference is a very broadly defined term (even the specifics in the rulebook are wide open to interpretation), they maybe just wanted to punish him for a dirty play.

Voted Girardi, Richards, and other for the posts. The posts had a really solid game out there and were involved a lot more than the previous games this season.

He got a game misconduct. This isn't soccer with Red Cards. He should be good to go tomorrow unless Torts pulls something.

Also, woooo we are in a playoff spot.

But seriously, 4 points behind the Penguins with 2 games in hand. No reason to worry after the tough start, we are starting to get it going now. Can't wait to get Staal back.

Girardi
Anisimov (it was hard to vote for him considering how much I loathe him)

3rd one could be anyone - I chose Cally

interesting +/- on the season:

team highs +6 MDZ; +4 McD; +4 Sauer

team low -5 Emminger

Not sure what that says. But if Stalman is in, who sits? Emminger or Woy?

No, I think it was just interference because Blunden wasn't a legitimate player on the ice. They probably shouldn't have called the too many men penalty, or at least only called one or the other, but seems like they might have been kinda pissed at the whole situation

Woywitka played under 7 minutes tonight, in a game where the Rangers were playing with 5 dmen the whole game, speaks volumes to me.

So judging by that I'd say Woywitka sits first for Stralman and Eminger continues to be monitored.

First - Richards
Second - Michael Del Zotto
Third - Artem Anisimov
Very honourable mention - Derek Stepan

Del Zotto following the play and cashing in is extremely good. This is exactly what we want from him.

100% Woywitka. When Sauer was kicked out we were gonna get a clear indication of who Torts trusts more. Eminger played 18, Woywitka played 6. I think Eminger has been worse then last season, and honestly don't have a stance on who sits.
