Sauer better be ready to handle 27+ tomorrow.
Great minds think alike. Lovin the avy btw. Finishing up the fourth season now.

I think Stepan deserves a lot more love in this thread.

I thought this was one of his best all around games.

Gabby needs to shoot more often. He needs to be more selfish sometimes.

Anisimov-Stepan-Gaborik was the line.

Gabby shoots plenty.

Over his last 5 games he has had 5, 7, 3, 4, and 4 shots respectively.

Not to mention he has also had a few games this year where he's had 8 shots.

I don't exactly know where that comment came from but this is the aggressive Gaborik that is looking for shooting lanes everytime he has the puck.

MDZ
Richards
McDonagh/Anisimov

Del Zotto has been nothing but great so far. Really has stepped it up from last season.

The goal that was ALMOST scored against the Rangers early on when Hank left the net because of a Montreal penalty, I've often thought about that situation but never actually seen it. Has such a goal ever been scored?

Yes, it happens about once every 1-2 years.

The Good: MDZ, but also every other D basically, are stringing together a couple of confidence boosters here. They needed that, Staal-less they were very tentative early in the year. Much worse then they looked Staal-less late last season.

Richards getting of to a good start, Cally and Gabby keeping it up.

The Bad: Boyle and Dubinsky are still struggling. Especially Dubi, he looses so much when he struggles.

The Redden: The PP. For a night like when it seemed to work, and did alot of good things too, its still so ineffective. Just compare it to MTL's PP. And anyone remember that PP in the 2nd when MTL had fireing practise? Look at the forwards they had on the ice, like none of the vets/big names. We certainly have a big attitude/confidence problem on PP too.

The rangers actually "scored" one against Pittsburgh circa 1999. Delayed penalty against us and the puck bounced off a ranger and into the penguins net. I think straka (as a pen) was involved but I could be

And I often think about it too.

The best part about that Shane O'Brien goal is when he skates off the spotlight is on him like he's the goal scorer

Great game last night. Really glad I went. don't usually go to Sat night games.

I must say, the crowd is a bit different than the usual week-night crowds. Seemed like people didn;t know when to sing the 'goal" song. lol

voted for Ani, MDZ & BR, though that easily be McD, Gerardi & Cally.

So great to see tha Habs fans get stifled for most of the night. They DO turn out though. Credit them for that.

I'd like to return the favor one of these days. A road trip to Montreal anyone? Get a bus? It's a great town.

Great game... at least from a fan point of view!

Only things I really didn't like about the game was Woywitka being totally flat-footed and Eminger grabbing an opposing player 9 out of 10 times... and of course the PP...

... otherwise it was a fun game to watch! Monster effort, especially Girardi, McD and Del Zotto!

Happened at the Garden in 1987-88 season. Isles were on a delayed penalty and pulled Billy Smith. I think Bossy took a shot that Bob Froese kicked out, and Potvin botched a pass back to the point. Slid all the way down the ice into the open Isles net. Froese was originally credited with the goal, but then it got changed to Brian Mullen (I think)

Technically speaking, doesn't a player still have to be at least partially on the bench for them to call it interference due to him not being legitimate on the ice? That's the way the rule reads...

Don't really know. like I said I think the refs were just kinda pissed that the guy jumped on the ice early so that he could hit an unsuspecting player

I'm wondering what it will take to get Dubi back to playing the game he had last year. 12 games, 6 assists is NOT Dubi.

When will he awaken?

Gabby's shooting percentage is terrible right now because of all the hot goalies we've come across.

Right now he's averaging 4.2 shots/game. That is insane. Last year he had 3.1/game and he usually had around 3.6-3.7 per game except for that one year where he had 30 goals in 48 games, where he averaged 4.1 shots per game and had his usual 15% scoring rate.

If Gaborik wasn't so dam unlucky, he'd be near a goal per game right now.

i'm surprised more people are not talking about how Torts yelled at Prust on the bench last night.

They spoke about it on Coach's Corner

Prust has easily been a reliable player 90% of the time he's been here, bound to get thrown under the bus eventually.

Who cares if he made a bad play. He was due, and we still won the game. I'll take it, I expect him to bounce back, I'm not as bored as the rest of you.
