Brookbank to Flyers?

I'd very much like to see the Flyers add a tough bottom pairing D.

The main return would be a pick but the Flyers would also need to shed at least one body (up against the contract limit).

Players available (in descending order of who I'd prefer you take):
Lilja
Andreas Nodl (young bottom 6 checking forward who scored in college but hasn't shown much touch in the NHL)
Shelley
AHL'er

Would the Ducks consider moving Brookbank and what kind of pick would it take?

Why would we want Lilja when we let him walk?

Personally I'd like to keep Brookbank, he's finding his form again and we already lack some tough players in the line up, he's one of the few we have.

Nodl would probably be the one I'd like if we were to trade him, but he doesn't seem like the type of player we really need at the moment

Well, if I were GM I'd be willing to give you a better pick if you took Lilja.

Thanks for reply.

Brookbank will only be moved if we are out of contention at deadline, or he starts to get outplayed by Foster. Right now he's some of the only toughness we have so he isn't going anywhere.

Lilja? I don't ever wanna see that guy in Ducks jersey. Ever again. And also, no to Brookbank, he's one of the remaining guys that are tough, and can play both D and W.

Want Foster instead lol?

I want to keep Brookbank, and would never take Lilja back, but what pick would you offer?

Brookbank's been doing pretty well, and he's one of our only sources of toughness. Nodl's somewhat intriguing, but I'd just sooner keep Brookbank. Absolute no on Lilja.

Anaheim really isn't in a position to be trading any of their defense right now.

Brookbank has been doing his job this season unlike most of the guys on the team. Also, the Ducks need to improve depth, and Brookbank won't fetch a decent 3rd liner in return.

3rdish? Depending a bit on what body you agreed to take I guess.

I really didn't know what the feelings toward Brookbank were in Duck land so I appreciate y'all answering that.

Value is fine, but honestly Id rather keep Brookbank. Hes fine as a #6, and no way Id want any of the guys in that first post. Brookbank just plays a nice simple game and him and Sbisa have been one of the only real bright spots so far.

Really? Our defense is what we have an abundance of. Look at all of the 'depth' guys we have. Brookbank, Foster, Rodney, Smaby, Carle, Cumiskey, Guenin. Plus we have 2 or 3 good prospects (Vatanen, Shultz) to come. I would definitely be willing to trade a depth dman for a solid bottom 6 guy

There's a reason Brookbank is the guy in the #6 spot. Everyone else on that list is a downgrade, on a blue line that can't afford to get worse. Brookbank is better for this team than any bottom six depth player we'd get for him.

Schultz and Vatanen have no impact on this decision. Moving Brookbank has an immediate impact on the team, where Schultz and Vatanen are at least a season away.
