He didn't win it-Crosby and Iginla did. As a matter of fact, any more sustained pressure and Luongo wouldve collapsed

Reimer could be a good, top 20 goalie if people would just rate him as such.

Hey, maybe if about 10 guys go down with an injury that year, he could make it?

Offence won't be a problem... It's a nice problem to have; every line will have a Top 3 Forward from their NHL Clubs... One thing that's important though; if this is international ice, Canada needs to chose mobile 2 way D-Mans that are able to play on the PP & PK on their own NHL Clubs. Which is why Letang/Weber/Keith&Douhgty are Locks SO FAR

I am NOT a Moderator but I am NOT allowing any predictions for Team Canada that breaks up the :

Toews - Nash - Richard's line

Amazing talents. All young. Tons of Chemistry. BEST line, in the entire tournament, in 2010.

I cannot delete your posts (not yet anyway )but I will hunt all of you down and force you to make the changes.

I highly doubt the roster will be vastly different from 2010's so this is my guess:

IN: Stamkos, Tavares, Duchene, Letang, Phaneuf, Myers
Out: Heatley, Thornton, Marleau, Niedermeyer, Pronger, Seabrook

Steven Stamkos - Sidney Crosby (A) - Patrice Bergeron
Eric Staal - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry
Mike Richards - Jonathon Toews (A) - Rick Nash
Matt Duchene - John Tavares - Jarome Iginla (C)

Shea Weber (A) - Kris Letang
Duncan Keith - Drew Doughty
Dion Phaneuf - Tyler Myers

Carey Price
Marc-André Fleury

They're all "skill" lines obviously by the caliber of players but I see two finesse sniping lines (Crosby line, Tavares line) and two big, mean shutdown lines (Toews line, Getzlaf line). Should be a good balance.

As for defensive parings, I tried to have an offensive and defensive defenseman paring for each line. Also, I know I'll get flamed for having Phaneuf on there but I think with the level of play he's had so far this season, it's not impossible to rule him out of a shutdown pair with somebody like Myers.

Good. Very good except for Iginla (way too old) and Phaneuf (gee, let me guess, a Leaf's fan???)

Remove Phaneuf and input Burns. Remove Staal and input Claude Giroux. Remove Iginla and input Skinner and your picks are GREAT!!!!

That's nice. You've now posted three seperate times in the span of an hour about how you don't like how Phaneuf is in my lineup.

I don't care. Christ.

After watching the Oilers tonight, RNH may be a real possibility for 2014. He and Seguin.

What do you think of that whole line. Marchand Bergeron Seguin... I mean replace Marchand with another player and that could be a potential fourth line on the team.

I like Marchand but...

i) I don't think he is as good as the players he would replace;
ii) I would NEVER TRUST him on my Olympic team. I remember him on the WJR's teams - he was prone to stupid acts/mistakes;
iii) I like Bergeron on the Crosby's first line. A one-two punch of excellent face off men;

I also think the youth and speed of Seguin, RNH and Skinner would be interesting and be a nod towards 2018.

OMG... have you seen Staal's number this year?

14 Games - 3 Goals - 2 Assists - MINUS(!!!!) 16.

**

No GREEN. He makes enough defensive mistakes on the small ice. Myers brings so much more to the table.

**

No breaking up Nash-Richards-Toews : Best Line / Chemistry in 2010 stays together in 2014.

**

In 2 years Seguin will be miles ahead of Taveres.

**

The rest is Good but I would have different line combinations.

Still early but I'd say:

Hall-Crosby-Stamkos
Skinner-Tavares-Giroux
Perry-Getzlaf-Seguin
M.Richards-Toews-Nash

E.Staal

Doughty-Weber
Keith-Myers
Letang-Burns

Pietrangelo

3 out of Luongo-Price-Fleury-Ward depending whos hot that season

Good but RNH is better than Hall now. I can only imagine in 2 years.

Taveres skating is his weak point so, on the big ice, I think he will be a liability. Bergeron will be better - and great at face offs.

As far as Eric Stall, once again, 14 Games / 5 Points / Minus 16 (OMG!!!). Why does everyone but me still like him?

NO Luongo!!!

A few have mentioned, M. Richards-Toews-Nash should not be broken up, they're right. They were outstanding together both offensively and defensively. Suggesting breaking them up means you didn't watch the 2010 games.

I would not have Bergeron in the discussion, I thought he would be good with Crosby but he was Canada's worst forward and rode the pine as the tournament progressed.

Assuming he progresses, I think RNH would be a nice fit as a feeder to Stamkos.

Hall-Crosby-Giroux
RNH-Stamkos-Seguin
Tavares- Getzlaf- Perry
M. Richards- Toews- Nash

Keith- Weber
M. Staal- Doughty
???- Pietrangelo-

Canada has a number of good right shot defensemen (Letang, Burns, Seabrook) but not a lot of left shooting ones. Not sure who will step up for this. Also not sure about M. Staal, will have to regain his form.

Price
Fleury
Luongo
