He didn't get his pocket picked. Wheeler hooked his torso and arms and twisted him around. Watch the replay.

41 second mark.

That is not a hook IMO. He took his stick, lifted Anton's stick and stayed with his guy. It was never in his torso and he didn't get twisted around because of the play. He twisted around cause he saw the puck was going by him, so he reacted by instinct.

Like I said, the art of stealling the puck by lifting the opponents stick is a lost art since 9 times out of 10, you'll see a bogus penalty called on such a play and that's why you see so many players confused when they get called for a thing like that. No one knows what the proper play is anymore and it translate to the fans as well.

Two seperate views on the play I guess.

I wouldn't look into it too much......Jacques has frequented both Lou's and the players boxes this season/pre-season

Likely just a 'hey whats up hows everything' and likely a critique/suggestion or two

Then I guess Fayne`s play on Talbot wasn`t a hook either.

Elias tied John Ogrodnick and Doug Wilson for career points last night.

Any youtubes for Marty's save(s) from last night?

i'm not sure how you can possibly say that was not a hook. wheeler's stick was completely up on volchenkov's glove and he wasn't able to make any sort of play on the puck. that was not a simple lift the stick and steal the puck. wheeler fell down after because he was basically attached to volchenkov and finally released. if it was a clean play there was no reason for wheeler to fall down after. that was a classic and blatant hook and i have no idea how the refs did not call it.

I didn't know that complete and total ignorance/possibly legal blindness was considered a "view" now.
For your reference, I think it might clear some things up : Hooking in ice hockey is the act of impeding or obstructing an opponent's progress by placing the shaft or blade of the stick on the midsection of the opposing player and pulling him or her back.

I trust this clears up your confusion.

I quoted it before and I'll quote it again.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaghhh!!! Can you believe it!!"

And then when Chico says, "Adam Larsson, with his second breakaway...," though Larsson did make a good play to chip back up to Zach.

While that may be true, they're tons of fun to listen to, especially when Steve is pumped like he was this game.

I absolutely hate listening to Steve and Chico and am close to either muting or watching the other teams feed. It's just getting to be too much to take. They are so bad.

I've really liked Steve so far, but he doesn't know how to shut up Chico like Doc did.

I don't see why he would, unless it's on NBC or VERSUS. We don't have him signed to any contract.

I was there!! And you can see me in the highlights too! Beige pants, Zajac jersey, section 4, row 4, right behind 1st and 3rd Pavelec, last seat on the row. (on the players' bench side of that ramp, behind a white, retri Richer jersey)
