He wanted a deal like Joakim Lindstrom had with the Avs after a great season in Skelleftea, that's what Thoresen should have had.

Before Torts put AA and Steps with Gaborik, I was all for it to give MZA a shot on that line. Now, I don't know, This line's been good the last couple of games.

One of the reasons he decided to don't go for an NHL job this year, was that the KHL deadline expired before his RFA contract with Philly did.

The good news when all the Norwegians fail to make the NHL is that we're gonna have a very very solid rooster for the WC. Poor Danes, they are a victim of their own success in that respect. With Thoresen, Olimb, maybe Zucca, Holøs, Tollefsen and maybe even Vikingstad all being eligible they can go really far.
And there are some new young aspiring prospects on the way up as well.
Volden is actually getting some minutes for Blues. Haugen doing good in the Belarusian league witch is not all that bad. Haga as made his debut in SEL I think. Winkler seems to get the hang of it finally. Olden doing better that last year in Erie Otters. Nicholas Weberg had a good start at Yale. Kristiandsen about to sign for HV71along side Ask and Trygg. Frøseth back on track. Better depth then ever. Including the young defenders, if nothing else being a year older.
For Norwegian media success in the WC in Sweden would bring attention, and also some attention from the scouts in the NHL.

Maybe T Kristiansen and Ylven should be the next in the AHL / NHL. Seems to match the frame they are looking for

Agreed. I assume is going to wake up start giving Boyle and Prust the 4th line minutes they deserve which will leave MZA on the 3rd line.

Google translate with some editing:

The announcement from Fredrik Bremberg continues to linger.

Now Modo examines the opportunity to attract back points king Mats Zuccarello instead.

- Of course we are interested, says General Manager Markus Naslund.

According Sportbladets sources, he has made contact with the New York Rangers general manager Glen Sather and asked about the club's plans for Mats Zuccarello who received sparse playing time by coach John Tortorella in the first three matches and then was sent down to the Farm Team Connecticut Whale.

- I would not really comment on any names but it is clear that we are interested in him, said Markus Naslund and continues:

- From what I understand he wants to give it a try but for how long he is willing to wait for a chance or if the Rangers are willing to release him if he would like to move back home I really do not know.

Modo is not the only ones to be interested.

- Markus is not the only one who has been asking about Mats, said agent Eric Ryman and continues:

- There are many clubs around Europe who are crying out for players like him.

Can there be talk of a move?

- He will try to get back to the NHL, and although he would remain in the AHL and will move back to Europe so I can not negotiate with any club before the Rangers have given the green light. It is entirely up to them.

The way the top six guys are playing now, you don't break them up. Bringing up Zuccarello to play on the third line, would give you these lines:

Avery/Fedotenko - Christensen- Zuccarello
Avery/Fedotenko - Boyle - Prust

I don't see that third line getting more minutes than the Boyle line.

In the last 31 games in the AHL he's got 35 points. He's first month was all about tuning his game. That's about as good as any in the AHL, and over the full season he would be the top scorer in the league. I think he's proven himself there. Can't blame it on the (rink) size anymore.
