Rangers trade Kundratek to the Caps
Quote:
Washington consummated a minor league swap with the New York Rangers on Tuesday. The Capitals sent forward Francois Bouchard to the Rangers in exchange for defenseman Tomas Kundratek.
Bouchard will report to the Rangers’ AHL farm team in Hartford while Kundratek will join the AHL Hershey Bears.

Hasn't Kundratek been a healthy scratch the past few weeks with the glut of dmen the Whale have? A change of scenery will probably do him well.

Don't get me wrong; I understand trading Kundratek with the stockpile of young D ahead of him; but couldn't we get something better than that?

Bouchard seems to have had a quiet year last year based on stats. Only 24 points in 74 games. Year before he put up 52 in 77.

Don't really understand this. Initial impression is that Kundratek is a better prospect.

Right winger. PM Bouchard's little brother and PA Parenteau's cousin.
From reading his prospect profile on the Caps page it looks like he was a prolific scorer in the Q, but it hasn't translated yet.
Likely just AHL depth but you never know...

Bouchard...meh...not much upside at this point and he's already declining in production in the AHL. Zero points in like 9 games this season for Hershey. Whatever. Figured they could get someone with a bit more potential because I've liked Kundratek.

Maybe the Rangers have confidence in Bouchard and he is the call-up for Wolski?

What the hell happened to Kundratek? All reports were that he had a very good year last year. I doubt Bouchard will ever play in the NHL.

No way IMO. The guy hasn't scored a point this year. There's already more deserving guys in the system.

A bit disappointed.
2008, while good for us, was looking like an incredible Ranger draft. Del Zotto picking it up has made it better, but I had higher expectations for Kundratek, Weise, Grachev and Doyle.

Meh trade.
Caps win it by an edge. Bouchard peak out at 16-17 years old
He's been doing nothing for the last 2 years.

We have a ****-ton of D. Kundratek was sucking this year. Odd man out. Don't care one way or the other about this move.

My guess is that The Rangers plan on calling up a forward soon, and Bouchard replaces him in hartford.

I think it has more to do with the fact that we had like 75 d-men on the Whalepack.
