Weber and Desharnais, two of your favorites, were terrible.

A decent enough effort aside from the absolutely terrible PP that JM refuses to change up.

Its also very evident that this team lacks a pure goal scorer. Eller gets a zillion chances but cant capitalize. Cole is much the same. Gionta is a complete non factor. Kostitsyn's absence was notable as Darche brings nothing to a line. Cammalleri is snake bitten.

And i HATE having 7 defenseman. The fourth line was beyond useless tonight. Missed Blunden.

All the people who were hiding in the shadows during the win streak are going to be back out now.

Anyway, complaining about tonight isn't really warranted. For the most part, the guys all played decent to good (Plekanec an obvious exception). We we're the better team, no question. Just a horrible mistake on the first Plekanec play. Then the deflection.

We did give the puck up a little too much though.

And the coaching was terrible.

Habs should have run the oiler goalie to mess up his game.
Pacio goal was a softie....JM should have sent in nuk crashing into that crease.

Emelin was excellent tonight I thought.
Emelin was good, got caught out of position once and left a guy open in front of price late in the game, but I was very happy with how he played.

Pleks wasn't great, but his overall game was really brought down by the powerplay. He did not look good there at all.

We really do have awful luck, and it's hard to fault Plekanec too much for one bad game (even if it was an especially bad one)

But the players who have really been getting on my nerves this year have been Cammalleri and Gionta. I love Cammalleri's skillset, I love him in the playoffs, but this is the third season as a Hab where he's a marginal top 6 player during the regular season.

And Gionta is having an atrocious season.

Cammalleri was one of our best forwards tonight.

A couple of things.

I cannot stand watching Darche on the PP. You have Darche-Gionta and Pacioretty out on a PP, two guys who can't pass for their lives and its not like Pacioretty is the greatest playmaker(he isn't bad)...seriously does he expect that to score. I really can't stand watching Darche, he sucks. He's being put in a position where he cannot succeed. He's great in a 4th line role, but seriously get him off the god dam powerplay! FFS

Also, I like Desharnais, but seriously, I don't give a **** how many points he has, Eller is by far the better player and should be playing with Cole and Cammalleri(at least for tonight that Andrei was out).

Plekanec...wow! Not his fault though he clearly isn't cut out for the point. Get Desharnais out of the center position on the PP and put Plekanec in. He's been the team's leading scorer the last 2 years, put him down low.

But not by much. We're still not getting Yakupov at this stage, Grigorenko is a longshot for us where we are at now.

Subban's only problem is his pointless wind-ups for the blasts from the point. Yes, we get it, you're shot can hit over 9,000 if the blade of your stick hits the back of your helmet. Problem is, with more power comes less accuracy hence why he keeps missing the net.

Calm it down a bit and concentrate on sending low, accurate shots at the pads of the goalie. Force him to make a save and likely get rebounds for the traffic in front to go after.

First wave of pp should be 13 14 (whichever big winger is playing best/ is fresh out of 46 67 and 72) with 76 and 68 on the backend

He also set up MaxPac's goal.

Plekanec's mistakes got highlighted because they became goals, but he didn't play a bad game at all.
This was by far Weber's worse game this year, on so many levels, and our PP was just atrocious. Eller needs to be tried there.

And anybody else notice how big of a hole AK's absence leaves on the 3rd line?? All the more reason to recognize his importance and possibly re-sign him. Our 3rd line with Darche looked useless for the most part.

I'll complain.

This strategy of badly dominating opposing teams really isn't working, especially at home. It's time Martin dropped it and went back to good old-fashioned sucking, that worked much better.

Nothing we can do but wait for markov.

Obviously everyone is aware of the struggling PP, but the only way to make it better is with a player of Markov's caliber back there, and since we're obviously not going to trade for that, everyone just has to be patient and satisfied with sub-playoff-position hockey for awhile. We got beat by an incredible goalie tonight, and the fire martin people are out again. I thought as a team the guys had an unreal game. Just wait for markov guys.
