RE: doug maclean's comments on Kadri

i am paraphrasing, but he thinks there's something up with this organization and Kadri. mentioned his poor AHL effort: 6 GP, 4pts, 4 assists, -4. can't understand why he's continually not been given a chance with the big club.

My question for you is:

Does Kadri want to be here?

what's the buzz?

what do you think?

Please/Thanks

I would not put much thought with Macleans comments.

Kadri is a prominent prospect for the Leafs and they are giving him every opportunity to succeed. There is no reason for a team to sabotage their (arguably) number one prospect, so why would the Leafs who have always lacked in the area, do so?

Kadri will be on the Leafs on a consistent basis when he is ready according to management. In the mean time be open for a lot of ups and down, it's a natural part of the growing process, in all aspects.

Kadri will get his chance. Burke and Wilson didn't think he was ready. He'll be back.

4 pts in 6 games is a fine start.

Never considered the possibility, but I'd take it.

Schneider is American, so he'd fit right in.

Starting a thread based on something that Doug MacLean said?

He hasn't seen Kadri play a minute of hockey in the AHL.

I have heard a couple things from someone close to the Leafs:
1) Kadri's attitude at the start of the season irked some of the veterans in the room
2) His attitude last year in the AHL was not very good
3) When he gave the finger to the camera during McCarthur's interview it disappointed management because they don't think he has matured yet.

Take that for what you will, but I don't think Kadri has necessarily earned a spot on the club yet. Not the club keeping him out.

I will say one thing, I don't see Wilson or Burke rip other Leaf rookies (Frattin) the way they continually rip Kadri (in the press).

I think one full season in the AHL for Kadri would do him a world of good, then he should be good to go for a full season with the Leafs next season, ideally playing on the 2nd line, not 3rd or 4th.

When the Red Wings send down a good prospect, it's "oh they're a great franchise and know how to develop their prospects! That's the right move!"

When the Leafs send down a prospect, it's a conspiracy.

When was the last time anyone "ripped" on Kadri?

Well they don't need the help from their minor league team in most cases because they have been a top team for so long. It is not unusual for bottom teams to go to their kids, partly to give the fans something to cheer for.

Kadri is teetering on losing his blue chip status IMO.

"I drafted Rick Nash."

And he's leading the Blue Jackets to where?

They lost Kadri. The kid doesn't have the enthusiasm to play for this organization and I have said it in the past they were jerking his chain. Last year if they were going to send him to the minors than fine but they should have made the decision when he was brought up he was brought up for good. I'm sorry but having Bozak, Lombardi and Frattin ahead of him on the depth chart is ridiculous.

The kid should be our third line centre and given second line power play duty and spotted on the first line. They could have a great young player in him but McLean is right, they don't want him here.

He got an elite player and had a budget, where has the new regime taken the team? I give him credit for going up in the draft and getting him, what has Florida done with the comp?

He's a young prospect that Burke drafted.

I doubt there were any secrets in the closet, so I doubt Burke's opinion has changed.

I would just like to say that I believe there is irony in mentioning Rick Nash and Nazem Kadri in the same thread right now....

Whether the Leafs messed up Kadri or Kadri disappointed the Leaf management, what seems clear (although you never know) is that Kadri's NHL future may very well not be with the Leafs.

He had plenty chances last year and we are now just 15 games into the next season which he started injured. Im not sure why people think there are serious issue here.

I wouldn't take any information from anybody at Sportsnuts seriously. I'd rather watch a sport show where the hosts are talking to me rather than very roughly telling me things are this way and that way, all while pounding their fists on their desks. Kypreos is the biggest meathead, and then Maclean behind him just adds to everything that's wrong with their hockey banter. I find myself getting so angry when I watch Sportsnet.

Pretty obvious Kadri has fallen out of favour with the organization. Good chance he'll be moved sometime this season.
