Mojo is getting a top forward 6 spot before any of these guys tbh. Would be criminal if he didn't unless Kuznetsov really is as good as at the WJC.
Eakin impressed me a lot in the mem cup but he's the more likely out of these three to be a 3rd liner I bet (he's less skilled imo but more of a complete guy).
Hard to call MoJo a prospect for the purposes of this discussion, though, since he's already the #2C.
I'd be curious to see if they ever consider moving him to the wing if he doesn't develop a better faceoff skillset (not saying he won't), or whether they just grin and bear it as long as the rest of his game stays at a high level. Kuznetsov can play C if they need him to, even though organizational depth might more naturally push him to RW in the near term.
And you're right, it's fair to say that Kuznetsov's skillset is different than Semin's (I like the mention of Malkin earlier in the thread), I was just looking for a way to quickly compare his upside to a current Cap. He's not Ovechkin, he's not going to dominate a game physically the way Ovechkin can, but he might turn into a guy that can control the game through his skills. With Semin those skills are slanted more heavily towards his shot, with Kuznetsov it'll probably end up slanting more heavily towards his dangling/skating.
do u think that will get him a top6 spot ? i think his release is what it will come down to if u want to call him a top6 talent.

Depends on if he develops into more of a scorer or more of a playmaker. I think his release is good enough, even if he doesn't become a Semin-like sniper, but it's the total package that will get him to the NHL if/when he gets here.

I'm excited to think that we have Eakin, Orlov, and Kuznetsov as potential adders to an already young team. Combine that with two #1 picks next year and the caps are sitting pretty...
Kuznetsov said to be centering Bodrov & NYI prospect Kirill Petrov at the Karjala Cup. Russia's match against Finland starts in a little under an hour.
In a recent interview he says he's made a decision where he'll be playing but declines to elaborate.
Carrier was scoreless, even with three shots in two Super Series games. Galiev was with the Russian team for the game in Quebec and did talk to the coach. Perhaps he'll be invited to the pre-tourney games to try to earn one of the last spots. His chances probably still aren't very good unless there are some injuries in the meantime.
Just got the latest issue of The Hockey News in the mail.
There is a propect report near the back (2 pages front and back)
On the first page there's a nice article about Kuznetsov being the next big Russian star in the NHL...
And then on the 4th page theres a little grid thing that re-orders people in the 2009 draft if they had waited till they were 19, and what the next draft would look like if they were in it.
Ryan O'Reilly is first (avs) and Johansson and Orlov are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
looks like we got some nice young guys... really excited for the future.
1.30 Kuznetsov is so awesome, like "hey guys clap your hands, i'm rocking here!"
P:S: off topic: in the end of the video there is nice view how the puck had broken the glass behind the net, it'd happened at pre-skating before the game

This is good news. He should be here next year from the sound of it.
Stanislav Galiev is coming to DC to consult with team doctors, according to #Caps spokesman. RT @Galixon_97 Washington tomorrow morning.

Journal de Quebec is reporting that Stanislav Galiev will be out until mid-January.
The newspaper reports that Galiev had surgery on his broken wrist in Washington recently. The Russian winger tweeted last weekend that he was heading to DC but has since deleted it....
It’s bad news for Galiev as this means he won’t have an opportunity to play for Russia at the World Junior Hockey Championships this winter.
