But what's the point blaming and bashing DD on this board, a guy making about 600k with half a season of experience at NHL level.

Blame Gauthier and Martin. the first for not acquiring top-two centers and the second to overplay DD because he has no other option.
Well, let's be serious for a second here. Our number two center is injured. Of course DD is going to be pushed into that role.

A center core of Plekanec-Gomez-Eller-Nokes is actually quite damn good, I would say around top 10 in the league.

Wrong. Our number 2 center on anybody who actually watches the games in Eller, by ****ing far. If Eller and Gomez and DD were all the same age all making the same money, I would pick Eller an infinite amount before even thinking about the other ones.

DD isnt forced into anything, thats Ellers spot. But since Lars' last name is Eller and not Croix and he is only making 1.3 million he is bumped down. **** status' can we finally just make the best possible lines to win?

You know they say that its all about social status for kids/teens. That doesnt change anywhere, Eller is our 2nd line center, and if anybody disagrees there wrong. Plain and simple, gomez provides less offense, less defense (by an extremely large margin), he is smaller, weaker on the boards. The only advantage he has is faceoffs and thats an acquired skill, not many 23 year old faceoff specialists out there.

/rant.

You: Eller is our number 2 center and I am right and whoever disagrees with me is wrong!

Sorry if I don't jump the gun and place young players ahead of proven vets based on a few games.

Same time last year Eller was not even capable of playing an NHL regular shift. He only started to fit into a third line role in the playoffs, and played well. This year he is blooming, but he still isn't ready yet.

Do you think Martin is stupid? Honest question. Martin knows damn well that Eller needs time to develop into that role, rather than putting him there right away. The only reason he is getting so much icetime right now is because Gomez is out.

Gomez is still a much more reliable centermen than Eller, no matter what your views on either of them are. Gomez can at least play (may be not score) against the best competition in the league, Eller CANNOT yet.

You are an incredibly perfect example of the type of posters that frequent this board on a regular basis. Impatient, and more sympathetic towards young guys who have proven relatively nothing in this league, but you still want to catapult them up the line up.

Oh, and how does Gomez provide less offense exactly?

And this:

DD has the frame of my 12 year old sister. I like the kid, he has a good attitude but he's just not physically made for this league.

Snowbirds. My father spends his winters in Florida, but his best friend is in Tucson.
Ontariens love Arizona also.

Eller gets pushed down IMO because he's the one center not named Plekanec that can be counted on to lead a decent defensive line. Against Phoenix the lack of depth due to injuries positioned him to be the only guy availible guy that could carry the third line while DD was the third wheel on unit carried by his wingers. Just like how he played against Edmonton's best two way line for most of the night with only Moen and Darche to help him. Or how he got hard-matched against Krejci against Boston.

In Martin-land that's a sign of a great deal of faith in a players abilities. Eller's become the go to defensive center after Plekanec.

People talking out of their ass again.

DD is built like a tank, He's just a small person. Not because you're 5'8 that you can't be ripped ..
