Wow, I feel dirty for clicking on the link to his article. I would be embarrassed to read that on HF Boards, much less a major sports network.

But lets face the fact that media has become more about entertainment than reporting the news in the era of 24 hour news channels. Sports media primarily focuses on a game the people who play it so there's even less reason fro sports writers to hold themselves to a high journalistic standard. Even when there are stats and data to use most sports journalists choose fall back on their "fan" instincts and cliches which is generally easier for their audience to follow and regurgitate later anyways.

wow thats brutal.

cant believe sportsnet would publish that. sportsnet, the network "fuelled by fans" letting spector run loose and try to humiliate fans.

looks pretty bad on sportsnets part, and embarassing that spector would write that out as a final piece of sports journalism.

There is nothing at all wrong with the second article. Most of it is 100% the truth. We'll just keep blaming the goalie, though, until he's ridden out of town and we realize that maybe, just maybe we should've realized what we had when we had it.

exactly...

as i stated earlier.. the overall message of the article flew right over everyone's heads after that atrocity of a letter in the first half...

Read after "The truth is..."...

and it's pretty much dead on..

Why does the OP expect impartiality out of sports writers? It's not like they're real journalists.
