Just got back from the game. The atmosphere was amazing!!! It was by far the best atmosphere in the Garden I ever witnessed.

"A jimmie for a jimmie makes the whole world rustled." — -31-
NEW YORK – It’s been a long time coming for Brandon Dubinsky.
After his first goal of the season gave the Rangers (9-3-3) a 3-1 lead in their eventual 5-1 win over Carolina (5-8-3) Friday night, he leaned back, tilted his head up in the air and screamed in relief. His long nightmare of 14 games without a goal to begin the season was over.
“Picture’s worth a thousand words, isn’t that the phrase? If you take a still shot of me with my head back, my arms up, it was just like ‘mercy, finally, thank God. Something gave.’ That’s what you need,” Dubinsky said. “Puck going off my butt or something, it was pretty dang close with a puck on my stick and an empty net in front of me 15 feet away.”
I think the most impressive thing about this streak is the way that they won games.
They've won games in dominating fashion. They've won tight games. They've won games that they played poorly in.
I am thrilled that the offense is coming along as well as the defense keeping up pace from last year. We add Staal back and that will be a VERY good group.
As I said at the beginning of the year, if we can keep up the same defensive level as well as gel offensively then this team may be in for something special. I don't know if the Rangers will keep scoring as they have been during the streak, but if they give Henrik 3-4 goals on most nights I don't see why we couldn't win a majority of those games.
As an Avery detractor, I think I should post how good I thought he was last night. Credit where credit is due, after all. He did have one "Avery moment" where he took a slap shot from 50 feet from the wing on the rush, missed the net and sent the puck careening back out to the neutral zone - but other than that, he was very good. Where has that Sean Avery been for the last 3.5 years? If he shuts his yap and plays like that, that's a player I don't mind having on my 3rd line.
