I absolutely love this concept. I have always had an aversion to the shield-based logo on the uniform but that was only when the Rangers wore those 1970's era throwbacks in the early 2000s.

I honestly think the elongated shield looks so much better than the squared off one. To me, it gives the jersey that 'traditional' feel the Rangers always pride themselves on. It looks classy and history-rich.

I would love to see this get the final nod and would certainly buy a few.

I think playing a big important game like the winter classic is essentially like playing a playoff game in January and it'll set a great tone for the rest of the season. Hopefully they play every game afterwards with the same intensity.

Latest Flyers jersey spreading around the web and these look pretty legit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Winter-...item45fe754970

I would say it's legit but a couple of things are tripping me up. The tags seem to be missing the NHL holographic tag (no fakes have the tag and this is usually a pretty quick indicator as to whether or not it's legit) and there's no break at the bottom sides of the jerseys like regular premier jerseys. For anyone that owns a premier jersey, you know it doesn't go all the way around at the bottom but is sort of cut at the sides like a football jersey. This isn't an authentic so it has to have those cuts. Plus, it doesn't seem like there's much of a tail. It seems pretty even at the bottom.

This is the best fake I've seen though if it's indeed one.

Any STH had an offer to actually buy tickets from the Rangers yet?

All the Premier Winter Classic Jerseys are done in the old CCM style, hence no break and no tail.

I submitted my survey last week and the NYR hit my credit card for $540 yesterday. I'm assuming that was them charging me for my tix... but I'm going stop by tonight and see my rep to confirm.

If it wasnt the charge for the winter classic tix they have some explaining to do.

They arent going to charge you for tickets without first talking to you

It was probably your montly season ticket payment.

Nope, my monthly ticket payment is $1230. That isnt taken until the 13th each month...

I cant imagine what else it would be other than the winter classic. I'll check in with my rep tonight and report back...

I could see MSG doing that being the cheap and unethical company they are. Part of the survey was "Do you wish to purchase WC tickets?". If you answered yes, they could argue it was a binding agreement.

I'll flip out if I find a similar charge on my credit card

Yea I will flip out if I find out they automatically charged it. Because you had to list 6 options, that doesn't mean you have to choose the 4th if thats whats left when it gets to you.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/i...t-gms-meetings

"It should surprise no one that the New York Rangers have reached out to Wayne Gretzky in an effort to change his mind about participating the Winter Classic alumni game Dec 30 in Philadelphia.

Gretzky told ESPN.com two weeks ago he didn't think he would play, citing previous family plans for the holidays and adding that no one wanted to watch a 50-year-old on skates.

But the New York Rangers have lobbied The Great One in the form of veteran GM Glen Sather, Gretzky's old boss from their Edmonton Oilers days.

"Glen called and we talked for 45 minutes," Gretzky told ESPN.com on Wednesday night. "I really respect the Rangers doing that. That's classy of Salts, Mike Keenan [who is coaching the Rangers' alumni team] and the Dolan family. So I told Glen I would think about it."

We're not betting on Gretzky changing his mind, but stranger things have happened."

Would be great if Gretzky played!

I got my order for the tickets in an email. They reserved seats for us and thats what we had to take. Not sure if I am happy with what I got. I have till friday to see if I want them or not. It looks like I might have the stupid foul pole in my way. I am trying to find out from people from Philly if they know about that section

Does anyone know who might play for the Rangers in the alumni game?

Jagr is playing in the NHL for the Flyers. I doubt he's in the alumni game and Prucha is over in the KHL playing for SKA.

Would love to see any of Leetch, Graves, Richter & Messier.

I think Lindros is playing for Philly.

I doubt Gretzky lines up for the Rangers, I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't interested.

Shanny can prob still play, maybe him?

Came on here to ask this question.

Like others mentioned about Messier, Leetch etc... I'd assume Duguay would suit up too.

My guess: Keenan as coach is confirmed, Leetch, Graves, Messier, Richter, Bure, Nylander, Straka, Shanahan. Just a few off the top of my head.
