So much for all those reactionary posters spazzing out over Eller playing with Blunden.

I wayyyyy prefer Eller with skilled players instead of grinders, especially Cammalleri. As for the 4th line, well, will be a strange one, if it lasts more than 1-2 shifts...

Cammalleri coming back is pretty big. Against a team like Nashville offensive depth is key to get around their big pairing. Although with 13 back in the line up I might have considered switching either Eller and Desharnais or Cammalleri and Pacioretty so Eller's line is more two-way and Desharnais is more pure offense.

I'd agree, but Cammy and Gomez are both playing hurt. I can see wanting to shelter them, at least until Martin knows what they can and cannot do right now.

Eller needs to step up tonight. I know he's been good, but he needs to put some points on the board to prove to his coach he can get it done with a quality NHL sniper. Hopefully Cammy can help him out by hitting the corners with his shots.

It's funny we want to see Eller play with some good players, but we don't complain about Plekanec getting shafted with Moen on his line. I think we're all confident he can already get it done with anyone though.

Maybe if Eller got top line minutes he would produce more! Instead of Darche getting prime minutes and power play time.

Jack Fartin has to go soon. this is getting sickening. Moen?? top line?? Unreal.

Personally way I look at is Budaj knows that team a lot better than Price and has had success against them. We have two back to back games in November and games almost every other day. He has to sit him sometime and sounds like a good time to do so to me.
There is nothing that makes sense in playing Mathieu Darche on the PP when you have talent like AK and Eller sitting on the bench. There is nothing that makes sense about playing Yannick Weber on the wing of the fourth line to dress Emelin when Weber was our 3rd most used defender all season and playing well in that role. There is nothing that makes sense about continuing the disastrous expirement that is Plekanec at the point on the PP. There is nothing that makes sense about using a skill player like Palushaj on an energy line. There is nothing that makes sense about playing Erik Cole for 13 minutes a game.

I'm not saying I could do a better job coaching the team than Martin, but clearly he and his coaching staff's idea of thinking outside of the box is completely baffling to the majority of the fans on here and to even the experts on TV. You can began to sense it on RDS, a lot of the ex-coaches on their programs who had previously supported Martin vividly are beginning to question his rhetoric.

Plekanec's is the primary shutdown line so playing the defensive specialist Moen there makes sense with the depth situation as it is. Besides, against Nashville you shouldn't concentrate too much firepower on any one line so their top defensive pairing doesn't have anyone to key in on. Hence 2 of Montreal's best 6 forwards in the lineup on each of the top 3 lines.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Preds get their 3rd straight shutout against the Habs tonight.. The Preds are like the Devils of the west for the Habs.

3-0 Preds.
