Smart, unselfish play by Subban. Nice to see his game coming back around after a jittery start to the season.

Patches... beauty.

Where are the DD bashers when you need them ?

Since the beginning of their new season after the first 8 games, the Pearn firing and the acquisition of Noke, the Habs are 5-2.

DD played his best game this season tonight bar none imo.

True. They are winning with great goaltending, defense, and PK. They aren't allowing many shots against them this year. There have been a few games already where the habs held the opposition to under 20 shots. I haven't checked, but I'm assuming their 5 on 5 goals have improved this year so far. We have to cut down on those short handed goals against.

Or we have to start turning down powerplays.

Actually they are 6-2 since Pearn is gone, Noke is in and Ladouceur is behind the bench in charge of D-men.

Well it is pretty easy to say "a lot of teams ahead of the losing lost tonight" when the team is near the cellar of the conference.

The three teams that are directly ahead of us, NJ, Ottawa, and Boston all won tonight though.

I am proud of this team right now. 6-3-1 with of course Marky still out, Cammy hurt and struggling, Gomer hurt and struggling, AK hurt, Max playing hurt...well done. After the first 6 games, and then these injuries, they could have folded up their tents. They did not.

It could be true, Moen threw a punch at TooToo so he must be traded

Stop complaining. You got a point out of it. It may taste like dog food but it's sort of nourishing.

Aside from the usual solid performances, a couple stood out:

- Cammy on a clearly injured leg
- Pleks and Gill on the PK
- Gorges is an F'in solid D-man
- Webiaz is increasingly becoming more reliable
- DD is the real deal

- Gomez was very good IMO and I'm happy to have him back

- THANK YOU BUDAJ! you had me ******** my pants early on, but you delivered. Congrats on your first win as a Hab.

cmmmmmon Marky and White!

Man, you're telling me. With a strong pp we'd quickly become a force. I'm pretty confident we're going to figure it out though. They came damn close in the first tonight and with Markov on the verge of returning things are only looking up.

Good news is, our PK is awesome. Gill in particular was brilliant tonight.

But at 12 or so % right now on the PP that has to be imo the main area of focus.

Team's playing as well 5-on-5 this season as they have in... Well, probably since the mid-90s. The penalty kill has fixed itself after early season woes (or rather, the coaching staff and players fixed it), now we just need to get that PP going. I think that's where Markov's presence will be felt most early on in his return. He's gonna need a lot of soft minutes to re-acclimate himself to real hockey when he eventually comes back and our powerplay is missing that playmaking threat from the point that had become his specialty. I think he'll be given ample opportunity to provide that.

Gomez was solid in a limited role. He was eased back into thing brilliantly. I think as much as the guy gets bashed Martin was really smart about how he used his players tonight. He deserves praise for this win. My only knock is Patches and Cole didn't really click tonight but he kept going with that duo.

Oh, and did anyone else notice no Darche on the PP? Amen.

Ehh, Gomez wasn't that good. He was directly responsible for the SHG by Weber. Granted he was playing LW so not his usual position, but after Nashville won the draw he skated directly at Suter who was not his man and left Weber wide open.

That's one guy in the league that cannot be left alone no matter how far away from the net he is in your zone.

Other than that, no complaints for the game tonight. Diaz is still learning, that much is obvious.

Defending against those 4 on 5s seems to throw the Habs for a loop. Maybr they should use 5 Dmen on the PP.
