Wasn't a very exciting game, but it was very even. I've been a bit of Pred fan for a little while now. Love Weber, Suter, Tootoo, Kostitysn, Rinne, Boullion and Fisher.
Youre fans and organization are both top notch, hopefully you guys can improve on last years playoff success.
Preds looked much better in the last half of the game
Budaj was every bit as good as Rinne tonight(and actually, by definition, he was better)
coulda been worse, need to start burying chances...
I was hoping that the Wilson-Smith-Hornqvist would look good tonight, and they were creating chances against a much better defense than they saw in Anaheim. Montreal plays a very strict, tight checking system. A lot of pucks were put directly into the goalie, and some chances were ignored in favor of the pass (Erat, I'm looking at you )
Rinne looked good as always. Budaj looked pretty good, too. I can't really complain, but I expect more effort from everyone (especially SK) in the next game...
Things that sucked from the PREDS tonight: (1) powerless play. (2) SK (3) SK on the powerless play. Remember over the summer when we delighted hearing he had re-signed?????

He does have 8 points in 11 games. That's a .72 PPG average. Not too shabby. He did look bad tonight, though. The theory over on the Montreal boards is he is still afraid of Jacques Martin
I saw Hockey Diva put on Dryden's jersey after the final buzzer and photos being taken, so I'm sure we'll see them make it up here eventually...
Struggled against Montreal's 1-2-2 NZ trap in the first period. Just no space through the neutral zone lead to no speed, which resulted in no forecheck and a lot of turnovers.
Second period got going strong after that faceoff win by Spaling to Suter over to Shea for the blast! Had a great chance on the 5 on 3, but credit Hal Gill's size taking away the cross crease pass with his body and the slot pass with his stick. That's what we drew up in the timeout and unfortunately tried to work it too long and as a result didn't convert. Still got plenty of scoring chances in the second period, but just couldn't put one past Budaj again.
Of note, when the puck usually comes back to Shea at the point he picks up his head and makes sure there is a lane to shoot. After getting run into the post by Subban, the puck came over to him and he buried his head and gave that puck all he had. Shea was angry and looking to either put the puck through the back of the net or hurt someone if they got in front of it. Luckily Hornqvist got out of the way
Third period was a more open end to end game. Again we had our chances, but couldn't convert. Montreal with a few brillant chances foiled by Rinne and it was off to OT.
In OT, it's very simply that Pacioretty made a nice shot and caught Rinne cheating. Rinne expected a return feed to go over to Subban cutting down the middle on the give and go, Klein played off Pacioretty to protect against that pass and left the shot up to Rinne. Unfortunately, Pekka anticipated the pass and got caught cheating. Game over...
Picked up 8 of our last 12 points. Gotta rebound quickly. Next five games are no walk in the park starting with Washington coming to town on Tuesday night. Really missed Legwand in transition tonight. Not expecting him back though till we hear differently. Smith line was buzzing again tonight. Fisher line has to build some chemistry quickly. Secondary offense is a must for this team...
tootoo was horrible tonight!!! anyone agree? im the biggest tootoo fan of all but he sucks offensively... if he isn't going to hit and fight and forecheck, I'm starting to think we could spend his $1 million elsewhere...

I'm in the same boat. A disappointing game from him tonight. However, we didn't lose the game because of a 4th liner. We've been scoring alot of goals lately, it's about time it dried up. I'll take the one point against an eastern conference team and move along.
Didn't catch the game because I was covering my own, but I am pretty disappointed we only got a point out of this match. Considering who Montreal had out of their lineup and who they had between the pipes, only getting a point is kind of unacceptable.
Hopefully we can rebound quickly and grab a win against Joel and the caps
dont know if your joking or not.... but yes I think lol. I'm kind of giving up on the tootoo project unless he wants to start causing havoc again like on the SHT line
