Not quite the "Brodin to Granlund, HE SCORES!" we were imagining.

do you think Brodin can stop Granlunds fluttering saucer pass? It's tricky business I hear.

Färjestad defenseman Sanny Lindström yesterday after watching the football awards on tv held his own unofficial SEL hockey awards on Twitter lol, as we don't have a real one in Swe.

"The Breakthrough of the year award goes to Jonas Brodin.
"The new Lidas"(Lidström) and "supertalent" is two things he often get to hear. The biggest talent I've met."

Sanny also in a chronicle in a local newspaper in Oct said that "Brodin is probably the guy in the team that has been least affected by our crisis, one of the many strengths he holds.
His play has been phenomenal so far"

He also just tweeted Brodin with a new nickname.

Sannylindstrom
Kör hårt imörra Bacon @brodin25

"Go for it tomorrow Bacon"

Tomorrow is the big day for Bacon lol, so looking forward to see how he copes with the pressure in the team Sweden debut.
If he can continue his brilliant play on this level.
The Czechs have always been good at counter-attacks so Jonas must be aware on the ice.
If he even gets to play, afterall they got 7 D's and Brodin is the new guy.

I am down with calling him Bacon once he's not a string bean.

Brodin is placed in the 3rd line before the game.

With Daniel Fernholm as the other D.

Järnkrok
Harju
Jämtin as forwards.

This will of course change during the game.

He didn't seem so nervous in the interview before the game, he's usually quite shy.

Short interview in the papers aswell: http://www.dn.se/sport/ishockey/unga-backar-far-chansen
You'll have to use google translate.

"Bacon"

Didn't have his best game tonight on the 4-2 loss against the Czechs. He was in on one of the Goals against, and it was cause by a turn over on him, wouldn't blame him completely since the FW:s moved really bad. And the Goalie should have had the puck.

He didn't look out of place on the National team, perhaps a bit "nervous", be not out of place.

Not a good performance at all from Sweden. Jonas looked good, 1-2 mistakes but nothing huge except for the pass that got intercepted and turned into a goal for the Czechs as Ladra said, but the goalie shud have had that one.

He went -1, most guys went -2. Can't find the icetime anywhere on the sites made by The Swedish Hockey Associaton, neither on the Karjala tournament official pages.
But I'd say he played around 10 shifts.

I love all Swedish guys (or girls)! Keep it up, without you, we would have no idea how Brodin's doing...

Good game from Brodin today, had more puck and played better than against the Czechs. Went -1 but nothing he cud do, was a 2 on 1 against him.

He doesn't wanna hold on to the puck as much as he does in Färjestad yet tho. But at the same time the pace is quicker out there.

Today, in about 8 hours Sweden/Finland will play. It is on national free Swedish TV so I guess there will be some kind of stream for the game for those who wants to see it.

Better be, because it's not free on Finnish TV. ****ing Canal+ and MTV3 for buying the rights, I'm not paying 30€/month just to see what I used to see for free. And that prize only includes the Canal+ package, if I wanted MTV3 Max it would be another 15€/month. And of course, being the greedy ****ers they are, the games are sometimes on Max and sometimes in Canal+, so you'd have to have them both.

Yeah, that sucks. But no worries. There's a Father's Day special offer, Canal+ for free today.

Seems interesting, haven't been able locate the channels myself, unfortunately. I'm sure a stream with Swedish announcement will do for me though.

How does that work exactly?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'll have to do a channel search which takes ages.

EDIT2: Still won't work. Great. It's always like this with MTV3 products, though, so I'm not really surprised. Just disappointed.

They should offer F1 and hockey for free in Katsomo as well, to compensate.

Thanks for that, too bad it won't be in Finnish though.

It's really pissing me off. Why promise that we'll see those channels for free when we don't? At least make it work.

Of course there is not a customer service number, either, so there's nothing I can do about it.

Awesome.

According to another hockey forum, these links should work:

Stream 2

Stream 3

So... That's Father's Day 2010. No wonder it didn't work.
