Beaulieu 1 assist -1 (the only minus on the team) in a 7-3 win over PEI.. Charles Olivier Roussel 4 pts..

Greg Pateryn the player the Habs received in the Grabovski trade is having a good season as an Asst.Capt. at Michigan and seems a lock for the Bulldogs next season.

I haven't seen either play, but I'm more impressed by Bennett's stats considering he is a sophomore. Pateryn is a senior and should be playing well. But it is encouraging.

Let just say that an awesome d-man would have Bennett's offensive instincts and Pateryn's size and defensive awareness. Pateryn would NEVER be an offensive force in higher levels even though he's playing the PP sometimes in Michigan. But Bennett could find a way to be a good defensive player if he can work positionnally on his game. You don't have to be the biggest one to somewhat be effective, see Josh Gorges.

I think Bennett will get lost in the defense log this team might have in a couple of years. Pateryn however has a place for sure.

The upside is much greater for Bennett than it is for Pateryn. Not too hard to believe that Pateryn's ceiling will be the AHL while with some additional size and strength, Bennett's ceiling could be NHL. But that's all predictions at this point.

Dietz is +19 in 21 games. Good for being tied for 3rd in the WHL.

I see Pateryn having a clear role in the NHL as a solid bottom pairing defensive defenseman. But it does look like we might have a log jam in a couple of years, and that role might be lived out on another team...

Looks like Joacim Eriksson ( G ) is doing pretty well this year... 94% in SEL. Might be an interesting pickup if his rights are still available.

I would love to see the Habs take a good look at Matthew Bissonette for the Acadie-Bathurst Titans. He's a big strong, 6'-4 200lbs centerman who can score goals(3rd in the Q right now) and was undrafted because he was hurt(Wrist) in his draft year while bouncing around with a few teams. He was said to have an attitude earlier, lazy work ethic in his Junior career but has to be hungry now that he was not drafted by anyone. Bissonette has scored 16 goals along with 20 assists and a plus three rating in 23 games with the 15th place team out of 17 in the QJMHL.

He has a similar PPG ratio as Mark McNeill, the other player some fans wanted. Pretty impressive for a defenceman. Granted it is a different league and Prince Albert is very much inferior to Saint John.

I think that Mcneill's performance at U-18 is telling a lot about him.

I believe it's time to give a guick report on the 2010 7th rounder John Westin.

Last season was completely spoiled by a haunting arm injury but this year he has played all 20 games for Modo in the SEL and these are his stats:

Points: 0
+/-: -3
ATOI: 09:34
Hits: 20
PIM: 0

Although he's currently -3 in the +/- statistic he has only been on the ice for 4 goals against => 47,8 minutes of ice time / goal against. Which is the best statistic by any forward on Modo.

Still, no overly impressive stats and he's not by any mean a spectacular player. He's just a gritty grinder with a good and solid defensive game. You won't probably get to watch him play in the upcoming WJC, even though I personally believes he should be a lock for a hard working and forechecking fourth line. But I guess that's not how Mårts rolls.

He might perhaps be a future NHL player, but a hard working fourth/third liner at absolutely most.

Feel free to ask me more questions.

Thanks Fregus! Where do you go to find the ATOI for SEL players?
