bolts will be tough medicine for how we have played as of late.......there defense first vs our lack of offense......last game we played them great and came up short.

Tonight I hope we break out of our funk but I can't see it against Tampa. sorry guys I hope I am wrong but I see Tampa. With our lack of discipline and penchant for turnovers we must be like red meat for them.

The good news is we seem to play the good teams better and it would make sense that we would gain a split with Tampa and Columbus the hard way

After the lack of effort against Florida, they'd better play a good game tonight. I was at the Florida game and I'll be at this one (not a STH, just on the internet all the time).
Does it really make a difference who plays in net, the team wastes a lot of good goal-tending performances because they can't score more than 2 goals most nights.

Going by what this team is going through right now, and reading what some of the players have to say, combined with it being a home game... I think we could really break out tonight.

I'm feeling good about this one.

Well the one thing that the Jets have going for them is Tampa is pretty bad on the road, especially to start games. If they can get Tampa on their heels early they have a good shot.

I really expect to see Mason tonight unless he's said he's not going in unless absolutely necessary.

I just want the Jets to come out with a good effort today. Obviously I want a win but I just can't stand watching a lackadaisical effort from the team. We're definitely going to have to play our best to beat a team like Tampa as well.

Go Jets Go!

Sweet GDT Holden!

Thank God I won't be in attendance tonight. I'm still hung over from Thursday.

1. Hoping for a better effort tonight than I was able to "treat" the wife to on Thursday.

2. Wife going to her 2nd game in a row... could it be that I've converted her? Big plusses and minuses if that's the case.

3. Please for all that is Holy, get rid of the Stride Gum ads at the bottom of these pages.

Right there with you KingJet. Lightning fan since they joined. I can't wait to hear the crowd when the Jets score though. The place is going to be rockin'.

Here ya go my good man, all those unsightly ads will be a thing of the past.

And since you've converted Mrs. JDz into a hockey fan, I'm sure she won't mind seeing that on the Visa bill.

As far as winning this game, it doesn't make a difference who plays in net. Pavelec has been stellar lately but Mason played really well before going down with injury. I'm more concerned that they're playing Pavelec too much. It's just a hunch though, I haven't checked how many games he's on pace to play.

The Jets need to open the scoring in this one. I'm going to make the shocking prediction that whoever scores first will win this one. Jets either win 1-0 or lose 3-0.

Slightly OT for this thread but I didn't get a chance to respond before the thread was locked.

To Bongo's post on the previous GDT about do we wish we got phoenix instead of Atlanta? Not a chance!! phoenix are a better team now but they are older and have less long term upside. Phoenix is overachieving do to a very very good coach and mature roster. Plus it seemed like some of the key leaders in Phoenix at that time did not want to come to the Peg.

Minus the last couple of games It has been a fun year and did we really need the baggage of taking the toxic 1.0 back? Atlanta has been a losing franchise but it was largely due to bad ownership and inept Managment. this is a fresh start for us so onward and upward!

The self titled Grand Magus album is incredible. The Jets owe the Lightning one now; this is an appropriate title, IMO...

I'm listening to the entire thing right now... I wish to order all of their albums on vinyl... Never have I fallen in love with a band so quickly.
That bass lick is incredible on this tune... WOW.

Thanks Hank... this is something I'll take care of when my current billing cycle ends.

I don't mind donating considering all the work hours I blow reading/posting on here.

I only really dig the self titled, personally. They moved to more of a power metal sound later on, not bad, but a bit too commercial for my tastes.
