Love the Habs fans clamoring for a big defensive centre who can take some pressure off Plekanec by playing the PK...yet who have no interest in developping one themselves.

Then we'll let Engqvist go, he'll sign somewhere else, and we can all sit around saying "Gee we sure could use someone like HIM on on fourth line! Way to go, PG!".
0 -0 -0 2 pim in 10 games yeah hes making a huge impact for sure

how much impact do you expect a young player to make in his first 10 games on the 4 th line ?

I thionk Engvist has potential to be a decent #4 center but he needs another year of seasoning.

Ew.

My least favorite prospect to play with the Habs since Maxwell.

What do you mean? Like I said, I'm glad we're all agreeing to close the books on our prospects after 10 games in the NHL. It's by far enough of a sample size by which to project the rest of their careers. I'd personally like to trim it down to 5 games, but some of you are more patient than me.

Because those two things are very closely connected right?

Some people here clearly have never taken a basic statistics class.

Then again, I did like to throw out the "Habs are 1-7 without Gomez in the lineup" at one point this year, for selfish, delicious reasons.

I am finding it funny when X says "Enqvist will never make an impact in the NHL (after only 10 NHL games which is humourous on its own), and then Y saying "we are 1-7 when Engvist is in the lineup."

I think what hurt the depth was drafting so many NCAA/College players. Instead of joining the farm after only 2 more years many are staying at school for an extra 1-2 years.
On the other hand, the Habs may be encouraging them to stay in school because they aren't ready and the organization is overcrowded.

Probably. It definitely has its pros and cons.

Water boy? You must be confusing NHL hockey with another sport in another century.

Careful there, I remember Jonathan Ferland playing with the habs during Gainey's tenure.

Plus, Engqvist will likely only play if one of Cammy or Gomez can't and that's because White and Kostitsyn are still injured. So that's saying that Engqvist is our 15th forward.

I fail to see how having a guy who's not spectacular, I'll give you that, but can still play a regular shift in the NHL without hurting you too much as a 15th forward is such a lack of depth.

Plus, when gainey was around people would complain about why we sign old veteran plugs instead of giving a chance to our prospects. That's what we're doing now and people are still complaining. Shocking isn't it?

Look where you're posting. You have an answer.

I don't mind Engqvist as an extra forward. I'm mainly surprised at the call up itself and the meaning of it.

Damn, I thought Engqvist was the reason for the bad start of the season ! Thank you for bringing me back on the right way .....

I just raised a fact about the performance of the team with him in the line-up ...thats it

But , saying the team is 5-1 without Gomez , is totally different thing ....yeah right....

Maybe, Engqvist is replacing Cammalleri tonight as Camma is still hurt. But Engqvist is a center.

Oh boy, Engqvist is close to useless. Is Blunden or even Leblanc a better call-up ?
