THE MATCHUP
GAME #16
Nov 15th, 2011
@
(9-3-3)
___________ (4-7-3)
7:00 PM ET
NASSAU COLISEUM - UNIONDALE, NY
MSG (HD) | MSG PLUS (HD)
QUOTES TO NOTE
Obviously, there’s confidence that comes with a winning streak and getting wins and going into the third period you feel it, that we have the guys here and we can get it done.
- Ryan Callahan
Six in a row is great, but we can't be satisfied.
That's what we talked about coming into the game, youcan't let off the gas pedal just because you've strung some games together.
Keep your confidence, stay confident with the wins, but just keep trying to approach every game the same.
- Brandon Dubinsky
We were running into some problems there for a bit, but in spurts in games in duplicating assignments as far as trying to check.
I think the guys have sorted that out and I think there’s a better understanding and there is a trust. That’s huge for playing away from the puck, is trusting the other guy.
Right now we’re in that groove of playing good defense and I really think it’s building confidence.
- John Tortorella

Of course, we come into a period with one game in 8 days when we're on a 6 game streak.
And to make it better, its against this team that has killed the Rangers in early season of late.
I don't expect a win, but I sure hope we get one.
Team plays 15 games in holiday-shortened December and 17 in March. Only played 10 apiece last 2.

This is the typical letdown game here. Isles come out for these games like its the Cup and the Rangers are riding high on the 6 game winning streak so it's got the makings for a disaster. Rangers should win this game but you never know with these games.

I read on Isles board that Nino was called up and will play tommorow.

The standings mean nothing when we play the Isles.
The more games we win in a row, the more likely it is we'll lose the next one. I thought it'd be against the Canes but was pleasantly surprised. I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

I fear neither Nino nor the
0 goal Okposo who's jock strap Callahan apparently couldn't hold (And I'm paraphrasing here.)
Time to beat the assorted motley crew of Ranger rejects, KHL level top 6ers, reluctant waiver fodder, glass jaw goaltenders and career -50's.

Haha, that **** was so funny. Okposo was supposed to be better than anything we ever had. How'd that turn out, Fishies?

I am praying that this isn't a game where we think we can get away with taking our foot off the metaphorical gas pedal.
This is a tough time in the schedule because we have been clicking so well and developing some very good chemistry that we may in fact struggle just because of the sheer amount of time off in between games these next couple of weeks.
They need to come out strong in the first 5-10 minutes and set the tone that they aren't here to go easy on them. Pounce on the Piles early and often and we should be golden.

Seven periods of school... Seven beatings a day... Roughly seven stitches a beating...
Seven wins in a row.

Someone should propose a trade for Okposo. Offer like Christensen and a 4th. Lulz.
I mean, 0-kposo would be great on our 4th line.

No...not six, I said seven.
"Sevens the key number here. Think about it. Seven doors. Seven-Eleven. Seven. Seven little chipmunks twirling on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' of gorgonzola when it's clearly bree time baby. Step into my office...cuz you're ****in' fired!"
Seven!!!!!! LGR!!!!
