I like the early game myself...but I am also not working that day.

It’s good for the team though as it’s the first game of back to back ones (with travel) and at least they have a bit more than 24 hours between games.

Actually, it's not dumb. The game is in Philadelphia, a lot of people in America have the day off, and it will be on TV without going up against the NFL.

Since when does a home team have to concern themselves with a visiting teams' fanbase? Should the Canadiens schedule weekday games after 9:00 when playing teams from the Pacific, so the fans of those teams are able to get home from work on time to catch the entire game? Should teams from the Pacific schedule games against Montreal at 6:00, so that Canadiens fans who wake up early for work do not have to choose between not watching the game or staying up late?
