I'm actually intrigued to see how he does. He's not really on the radar for most fans but he's shown a lot of improvement from an year to year basis. Who knows, he might end up being a legit NHL prospect.
We better stay out of the box, what will our penalty kill look like after Gorges and Subban?
hahahahahahaha! Oh man, we better watch out for blocked shots! I'll close my eyes every time Carolina shoots from the point... or hits one of our players... or adventures around our goalie.
Alex Henry was the clear move to make here, has lots of nhl experice, size, toughness, also he was pk's d partner in the ahl so he could fit right in if they paired him with him, pk gave the guy a ton of credit on his sucess after being called up to the nhl. The only knock on the guy is he's slow.
I guess they asked Clément Jodoin who was the best D in Hamilton and he answered St-Denis. Great for a good guy that is from the organization and a hometown boy. I wish the best for him we saw in camps that he is able to play reliable mistake free hockey.
We've traded our second round pick every bloody season for a defense. Can we just continue the trend? Toronto is begging to give away defensemen these days.

I think not calling up Henry was waiver-related... and you don't want Gill #2 pylon against the Hurricanes.

Right, they're totally afraid the aging slow goon who has gone through waivers annually without a claim every year for the last... what 8 years?... will attract a claim.
Gill is sick, Spacek is hurt. They needed a body just in case. Odds are Gill gets back on the ice before the next game, but if not, they've got someone to eat 10 minutes of ice time while they quadruple shift Weber/Diaz and Gorges/Subban.

Alright, then why would some people call up a slow aging goon instead of the best defenseman available in Hamilton?
Haha, I hate when people pat themselves on the back over silly things but this is just kinda funny, I just posted this in the Dogs thread on Sunday;

He had a pretty good year there, and I never really figured he'd even crack the Dogs in a full time position. Then two years ago he has a solid full rookie year in the AHL, and again I think well he'll probably be a solid 5-6th in the AHL for a few years at best. Cut to last year and once again he gets better and he becomes one of Hamilton's most important defenseman,
Now this year he's off to his best start yet and is Hamilton's second leading scorer with 8 points in 14 games. And, once again, he has surprised me!
He also looked quite solid in his pre-season games I thought amongst almost NHL-calibre opposition. He is now definitely a guy I think will continue to be one of Hamilton's best hopefully for years to come and maybe find himself in the NHL for a brief stint, likely not with us as we have a glut of upcoming talent but with another team.
Kind of a weird shout-out to give, but what can I say, I like underdogs and surprises and I feel like he is both!
Never expected it to turn out like some sort of weird premonition! Well I am certainly impressed with him, even though like everyone it sucks we are this point, but still, good for the kid. I hope he plays a solid game and maybe makes his name more recognizable! I'll be rooting for him, but also rooting for him to return to the Dogs soon, heh
