Cole was the Hab killer when he played for Canes. This time he is on our side.

4-2 Habs

Nope, Le Réseau des BS strikes again!

Lets see if the guy in charge of the scoreboard is going to be sleeping on the job again tonight!

I am not too confident in this defense but think Price will be in beast mode. He's mad at himself and he's usually pretty good when he's in that state of mind. 1-0 Habs in a lackluster game.

-Hurricanes have an on-going trend this season of being bad in the first period. The same period that the Habs love to dominate.
-Mike Cammalleri looks like he may play, was practicing in a red jersey in Brossard.

The bad
-Eric Staal has scored a goal and two assists in his last two games, slump may be on it's last breath.
-Eric Staal has seven goals and eight assists in his last eight games against Montreal.
-Montreal is 2 for 20 on the powerplay in the last few games.
-Andrei Kostitsyn's injury looking like it may be worse than we thought.

The ugly
-Hurricanes, before losing the last two, went 11-0-2 in the last 13 games in Montreal, including three playoff game wins.
-Frédéric St-Denis
-Hal Gill out again which means the Habs penalty kill will suffer.
-Frédéric St-Denis. Good God.
Don't know why you're worried about St-Denis so much. Guy is very solid defensively. He's more than reliable, he just doesn't have much else to this game. He's not physical nor does he have a good shot. But he's a smart player, who doesn't get beat easily, and he's got a great first pass. He'll be fine.

Markov
Souray
Brisebois
Jarventie
Bouillon
Robidas
Rivet

That's the guys that played in 2001-2002.
That's not even that bad besides Traverse. Dkyhuis wasn't great, by any means, but he wasn't the worst (at least from memory). I don't remember Jarventie though.

Didn't we have Traverse and Laflamme in the same year? Traverse was bad, Laflamme was 100 times worse.

Brisebois was awesome offensively that year. 15-goals. Defensively, not so much.

I think people are off their rocker with us having a "bad" defense. Those guys are all good enough to be NHL regulars for 8-10 years(I mean Gorges Subban Diaz Weber Emelin), the only problem is they have virtually no experience outside of Gorges.

Is Gill out for sure or will they make a call later today depending on how he feels?

Brisebois' biggest problem was he was used as a #1 or 2 instead of the #4-5 guy he would have excelled at.

Big game for Cole tonight and I'm sure he's really looking forward to it. I'm thinking a 3 point night for him tonight and a nice Habs win.

A Habs win? Likely, if Cole can shut Skinner down.

The St-Denis hate is laughable. The guy has done nothing to justify being scared just yet and looked fine in the preseason.

I actually found he was much better when we got him back from Colorado than he was previously. I remember he was "that D" back in the day Poor guy cause I know he always gave 100% it just didn't reflect the score sheet at times

I was about to post the same thing. There's a difference between being bad and being unexperienced. In 2 or 3 years, we could very well be the envy of a lot of other teams.

Seing those names a few posts back, I miss Bouillon and (a younger) Souray.

Hey guys, Canes lines should be something along the lines of:

Staal - Sutter - Larose
Skinner - Jokinen - Ruutu
Ponikarovsky - Brent - Dwyer
Boychuk - Dalpe - Tlusty

Harrison - Gleason
McBain - Allen
Kaberle - Joslin

Ward
Boucher

Good luck tonight! May Erik Cole continue his streak of "Habs Killer" with a hat trick of own goals tonight!

Any chance we see Boucher start tonight?

Very likely, I'm expecting a Habs blowout, so you guys will probably see Boucher about midway through the 2nd

Cole will play a very emotional game = too intense, lots of turn overs, stupid penalties.
St-Denis will play 8 min = not a factor. Will be on ice for a goal against.
Price will rocks = last game and last practice he was pissed off.

Probably just an optional skate, with a back to back and 3 games in 4 nights I don't make much of this unless they are all injured or sick

They should just start naming healthy players it'd be faster.

Come on boys, let's pull through adversity and win one we're not supposed to. Go Habs!

Habs must win.

.500 hockey is far than enough to think about playoffs.

In the Northeast, Boston, Toronto, Buffalo and Ottawa are all ahead of us.

Carolina is having a bad year. Let's keep it going. I am just scared of Ward who is always having great games against the Habs.

Well that's just add. The Habs are low on size down low and adding a non-physical 5'11 (I hate putting an emphasis on size, by the way) just won't help much. I would have preferred someone that had a bit more size like Mark Mitera (6'3) or someone with some NHL experience like Joe Callahan (46 NHL games, also 6'3). We'll see.

Having a good preseason is not a good enough reason. Gomez had a great preseason too. When you're playing against guys that are at your level then you look better than you really are. St-Denis was going up against other teams AHL (or lower calibre) talent. He won't have that same opportunity tonight. This is why I'd prefer someone with some experience like Callahan.
