there also a [player] + second for franson rumor around. could it be gomez + second for franson?

so for burke, in the end, it would be lebda for second, lombardi and gomez.

Do we really need another d-man ?

I'd rather shop for a winger.

I would not even take 1 sec to think about this trade I would say yes right away, Scott Gomez is not an nhl player plus his contract hinders our team with the cap, Lombardi only has a year left on his contract, and we get komi back who is a vet D, we have 1 guy over 25 playing d tonight. I would cry tears of joy if we can get rid of gomez, his play just drags the team down

As much as I would like to unload the Gomez contract, I hope this rumour remains just that. Given our recent injury luck, Lombardi would sustain a season ender on the plane ride over.

Komo is the leafs Gomez...both contract are mistakes.

Gomez will be making 5+ million next year, then 4.5 million next ,so i say no to trading him (for Komo).

If they are going to trade him, you do it next year.
Especially you wait to see what is going to happen with the New CBA...

So we would've paid McDonagh for 2 UFA players?

ok, do the deal then send Lombardi out on the ice until he gets hurt ( 2 days) put him on long term injury and save the money.

second send Komi out against Lucic until Lucic puts Komi in hospital ( 2 mins) put Komi on long term injury and save that money.

Voila

I'd like to know this as well. Nothing against the OP but I generally like to get corroboration from multiple posters for stuff said on TV/radio...

That would be an improvment. At the moment we paid McDonagh for a huge burden in the ass.

Even if Gomez had 60 points in Toronto, would anyone be really happy with that output and his contract?

I'd do it. If Komisarek wants to play then maybe he can help us. If he's terrible then at least he'll be serviceable with all the injuries. If he ends up being decent in Martin's system then he'll have his place. He can still hit and block shots, in the end he's better than 7000 year old Gill.

How it went with Komo leaving town, i say little chance he ever plays again in Montreal.

Listen to the boo's when he come's to town ...still fresh in fans minds.Komisarek in the eye of many crossed over too enemy lines(trader),and that enemy being Toronto, is the ultimate sin ....

Oh I know, and you're probably right.

It'd be an epic redemption story if it worked out but I think he sucks too much for that.

Emelin is a left D and we are lacking in that area right now. Meanwhile Komi is a right handed D, its mostly Diaz or Weber that would end up on the bench.

Gill - left
Spacek - left
Gorges - mostly played right but plays left (left handed too)

Subban - right
Diaz - right
Weber - right

Markov and Campoli are both left D however so when they return its almost certain Emelin doesn't get much ice time.

Well, Gomez is a non-factor nowadays, so I don't care for what bad contracts we might get in return, especially since one of them ends after this season, so the cap is automatically lowered. And even though he bolted to the Leafs when he had chance, I wouldn't mind him back, but damn, given Martin's dislike of physical play, not sure he will last long, and I DON'T WANT TO LOSE EMELIN !

But, well, rumor, at least Gomez would be gone...
