So Tinordi and Gallagher down. All that is left is Kristo, Beaulieu and Ellis.
Leblanc
Tinordi
Kristo
Gallagher
Tinordi
Ellis
Will be a fun year watching the Bulldogs next year
I think Beaulieu has atleast one year before we have to sign him to a 3 year right? So I expect them to take their time. Hamilton will look sexy in the next year or two though.
I imagine this is a set-up for a possible early exit by the Giants to get him Hamilton at the end of the season.
it is also a reward of sorts to show him he made a lasting impression, that he's part of the team now and is added motivation for him to tear up the WHL (the toughest of the 3 CHL leagues).
I can't wait to see how he does in the Super series against the ruskies...and being the captain, you know he has a legit shot at top 6 playing time for the WJC team
I do have faith in this kid. If I believe ANYONE is the next St. Louis it's him not Desharnais
I wouldn't compare him to St.Louis, his style is more like Fleury or Marchand. St.Louis is a playmaker first, gallagher is a shooter not afraid of traffic.
Habs have 22 players signed for 2012-2013 (out of 50):
(NHL)
1. Gomez, Scott (F)
2. Cammalleri, Mike (F)
3. Markov, Andrei (D)
4. Plekanec, Tomas (F)
5. Gionta, Brian (F)
6. Cole, Erik (F)
7. Pacioretty, Max (F)
8. Budaj, Peter (G)
9. Weber, Yannick (D)
10. Desharnais, David (F)
(AHL)
11. Leblanc, Louis (F)
12. Nattinen, Joonas (F)
13. Avtsin, Alexander (F)
14. Schultz, Ian (F)
15. Berger, Alain (F)
16. Delmas, Peter (G)
17. Stejskal, Joe (D)
18. Dumont, Gabriel (F)
19. Lefebvre, Philippe (F)
20. Mayer, Robert (G)
21. Tinordi, Jared (D)
22. Gallagher, Brendan (F)
I imagine this is a set-up for a possible early exit by the Giants to get him Hamilton at the end of the season.
Probably more about not waiting until the last minute. They have a lot of prospects to sign, Gallagher and Tinordi are done with Pateryn Kristo Bournival Ellis and Beaulieu coming up.

True. I meant more-so in terms of points/being an elite player rather than the comparison of how they play.
Similar to what people do with DD and MSL who are totally different players as well imo. (MSL is a faster player who also shoots) So really just saying I think he has more a chance to become an elite player like St. Louis than DD does.
Gallagher may be a shoot first kind of guy but it most certainly hasn't stopped him from making plays as well. It isn't like his stats are Grabner-esque. I think of any small player we've had in a long time he has all the tools to actually be that elite player we need. He was passed over due to his size which in the new NHL could be a mistake. Only time will tell but he and Beaulieu already both looked close to ready this year. For Beaulieu it's understandable but for Gallagher it really is meaningful. Not like he was a high pick.
Pacioretty - Eller - Kristo
XXXXX - Leblanc - Gallagher
Now Timmins, Gauthier and the Habs brass: PLEASE DRAFT ANOTHER STUD LEFT WINGER LIKE PACIORETTY AND WE ARE SET ON BOTH WINGS FOR THE NEXT 5 TO 7 YEARS AT LEAST.
So Pleks is already too old?? He's just turned 29 a few weeks ago...He'll be playing another 5-7 years easily.

He will be signed at some point between now and the start of camp as he's not going back to the Q next year unless he somehow forgets how to play hockey.

he's junior aged so his contract kicks in next season, same for Tinordi.

He would likely go to Hamilton as soon as his season is over with the Giants, as they would have just signed him to a PTO, so yea he should be there if the Gaints don't go on a long playoff run.
God, I hope not. Can we let him develop, and at least let him play in the World Juniors first, before calling him up to the AHL?

I should have placed this at the end of my post . I hope he does not play with the Habs and can properly develop this season under Don Hay. From the looks of it. he is looking really good. In fact, I am impressed with the way Brendan has played this year (18G and 13A) and see good things from him in the future..
